  1. Looking to have a great lunch inside with your hounds? Try Scale House Brewing. We had terrific pizza, meatballs, and Caprese salad there. We were out of the rain with our hounds comfortably resting nearby INSIDE on their dog beds. They are so friendly and accommodating there! Highly recommend. It’s still raining quite a bit up here. Don’t forget your umbrellas, towels, and raincoats. Do not miss the Vidal Blanc at JR Dill. They are so friendly and welcoming there. This is great place to buy a bottle or two and rest with your hounds inside or outside (weather permitting).
  2. Bring towels, Grapehounders. It is raining like a mofo up here. We only have one to dry off our soaking wet dogs.
  3. We are heading out today. Will let you know if we get to any of the new places early this week.
  4. We’ve been getting ready, too, but in a different way.
  5. Tonight we are finishing off an Atwater Vidal Blanc.
  6. We love JR Dill! Will have to rummage around the basement and see if we have any of their wines left.
  7. I'm drinking through last summer's stash of Atwater Bubble and Lakewood Candeo these days. More to buy in a few weeks! Can't wait. Great activity for kids! Corning is a terrific town to explore. Hand and Foot is a nice restaurant there.
  8. Tricia did not love the lumpy mattress. It rained a ton last year and the cabin seemed damp despite the air conditioning. You’ll love it though, Jackie.
  9. I sure hope the trainer and racing owner would pay for the repair. Trainers and owners all love their dogs so much according to the pro racing folks. Pro racing people, where's the money from the owners and trainers? Why should the adopter be stuck with a bill?
  10. The least expensive dental bill we've ever had was about $600. The most expensive was about $1,100. This thread is 2.5 years old, but it gives you an idea of what dentals cost around the country.
  11. Here are my Grapehounds pics from 2014 and 2015. You can get a look at some of these fun activities. These are the Christmas ornaments we made last summer at the Corning Glass Museum. The New York Times wrote a great piece about The Finger Lakes Region last summer. That article is here. My friends call me Julie the Cruise Director.
  12. We go sailing on Seneca Lake. We visit The Farm Sanctuary. We visit the goats and sample goat cheese at Lively Run Dairy. We blow glass Christmas Ornaments at The Corning Glass Museum. We eat great meals in Trumansburg. See restaurants 1 and 2 on the Trip Advisor list. We take brewery tours at Ithaca Beer Co. Sometimes we get our lazy butts in gear and hike to Taughannock Falls. And there are so many wineries on the tour, so we need to get to manyl of those, as well. It's a very busy week.
  13. We are in Cabin 83 from Monday to Monday! I can't wait.
  14. Condolences to you and Joe, Andrea. I remember meeting your beautiful girl several times. She was a dear.
  15. We get to GIG on Thursday and head home on Sunday. I can't figure out why would anyone need an entire day of Sunday shopping. We're been attending GIG for years, and judging by the hotel parking lots, seems like going home is the only destination for the overwhelming majority of GIG attendees on Sunday morning. We live only 1.5 hours from Gettysburg and even we don't hang around on Sunday. If you schlepped to GIG from a far off state, no way you'd be shopping at 2pm on Sunday. Just my two cents.
