  1. Cool. My group director told me no to heartguard and I never asked why...so it worried me a bit.
  2. LOL..that's what I was just looking up. I asked my ve about sighthounds and this med and she said she's heard of no problems but I was hoping for advice from grey owners too.
  3. The vet wants to put my 4 on Iverhart Max because Timmy has recurring tapeworms (despite bombing the house, treating the yard, checking him daily for fleas, and using frotline plus). Is it safe for greys? We have been using Interceptor. Thanks guys!
  4. welcome from South Carolina and a fellow meet and greet runner.
  5. just got mine!! Looks AWESOME!! Thanks Trudy!!!
  6. I've got one of each definition you listed...a textbook true spook and an extremely shy dog.
  7. I miss his comments too. Mac was well loved on here.
  8. Of course he is. You're too good of a houndie mom to settle for another. He loves you.
  9. Oh no...I am so, so sorry. It always made me smile to see Mac's comments on your posts. Run free sweet boy...
  10. Showing my dog medical-novice self. I always thought the hock was the ankle?? I'll blame that on subpar science classes... Here it is. You can see the trace outline of the scar. I have to admit when I lived in the apartment I had nowhere safe for him to run so we would jog together. After a lot of excercise he would pull up some. It's not a heavy, hindering limp, he trots along but you can see it. He's just been limping for a couple days now with the run/playtime. Should I not let him play/run? Will I injure him more if I let him? Ok...will def. get a heating pad for my baby. I will ask my adoption group about the hardware. It's something I never though to ask before. Thanks.
  11. Some luck: Many prayers: Hope he gets well soon and it's not too serious!
  12. I hate to admit that I don't know... He broke it september 2007, was avaliable for adoption in march 08, and I got him in June. He has a scar from stitches...if that helps...
  13. Thank you for your info. I just worry. I don't want to stop him from playing and enjoying life...he's so young...but I don't want to hurt him further either.
  14. Timmy is 2 years old. He dislocated his hock early in the racing career and is now my perma lap dog. His leg healed up but is a tad crooked and lumpy looking over the break. He normally doesn't limp. When we lived in the apartment he would limp if he walked too much or too long. Now that we have the house he played and ran some and is now limping. I want to know from your experiences if its normal to limp with too much excersion and if it will always be that way or if he will build up or what. I know it's a dumb question but I have never had experiences with bad legs or anthing...even in people. I also need to know if we need to go to the vet or if this is normal. Thanks everyone!!! I'm an overprotecive mommy....
  15. Vet suggested that we try dramamine first...half a pill, combined with rescue remedy on the food and lavander and almond oil on the ear tips. Worked well, but our case might not have been as bad as yours is. I have not used either but know people who use both. From what they say they are pretty similar.
  16. Ahem...edited because I made a mean, but well deserved, comment about the hunters you referred to. I made Argos a blog here: Argos the Galgo hoping that he might be a good ambassadog and people can follow his journey. Thank you so much for all you do for these sad dogs.
  17. Your family is beautiful! I am excited to see yet another person with Galgos...and on the frontlines...because there is so little information! Our boy (Argos) came over from Scooby 2 weeks ago...so he is a new addition and we love him!
  18. Welcome from Argos the Scooby Medina Galgo and the rest of his family in South Carolina! We need pictures!!!
  19. Wonderful...I am going to do a one week home update after I get home tonight with new pictures!
  20. The wounds came from being attacked by a pack of dogs in Quarantine in Spain. Pretty nasty looking....we figure he licked them a good part of his flight because they looked fresh when he came out of his box. He's on antibiotics and tshirts...here's hoping. He's not TOO much of a spook...seperation anxiety is of the likes I have rarely seen...and scared but not spooky. *crosses fingers*
