  1. Update - Day 3... Worst seperation anxiety I've ever seen...just...wow. And, extremely persistant. Jumping on and off our bed at 4 am was not the highlight of the morning...especially since he continued for 30 mins... But he's a love. And he loves our home. So we'll work on it....one day at a time for the sweet boy.
  2. Welcome from South Carolina! We need pictures
  3. The other kids are funny about him. Lucius is pretending that he doesn't exist. It was only baout 30 mins ago that he acknowledged him and growled to let Argos know that Lucius is alpha of the house. Then, they sort of played together. Timmy has decided he's tired of being bottom-rung omega of the house, he did the growly thing and now they're cool. No problems. Lucky Girl...bless her heart....wants to be an only dog. So..she's been kind of rude to him...but that's Lucky Girl. In reverse, he thinks he's made all kinds of new best friends and throws a fit, jimping, thrashing, etc when you try to take him away to walk him or something. He likes his new pack and wags his tail (not in the aggressive pose, but in helicopter friendly way). He is very small compared to my boys. When they all settle I'll get a picture...but he's a good 4 inches shorter than Lucius and 2 1/2 to 3 inches shorter than Timmy. Larger than a whippet. He's about the size of a small female grey.
  4. Thanks. He's actually black. The flash kind of discolors him, but his black is the same shade as our dalmatian's spots...so I'm going with black. lol!
  5. Update - Yes, he will be seeing a vet for his wound. Until then he has had it cleaned out and is wearing my legend of zelda shirt because it's loose and fits him. It's been stopping him from licking. I just need to get the copies of his vetting in Spain, which I will get asap from GRIN. Yes, I really think they get jet lag...he's been on Spain time all night/day! He was sooo exausted after his day yesterday he slept well! Argos is doing well. He cried for a couple hours straight last night....while playing and wagging his tail. Just cried as he went along. We kept him in our room and gave him a new bed which he loved. He slept (and is still wearing) one of my t-shirts to stop him from licking his wound. Turns out he's got some recent ones on his belly too...not nearly as bad but he's red in a lot of places. Anyways, when he went to sleep he slept well. He cried about 5:30 am and we took him out and he peed...so no accidents thus far. He pooped earlier and it was fairly solid, just slighty soft so his tummy appears to be doing ok. Oh...and he's the only hound in the house that sits. lol...my boys both looked at him like he was strange. Oh...and he made me laugh this morning. He kept coming into the living room and picking up a toy and taking it to the bedroom, like an assembly line, for probably 10 minutes. I finally got curious, removed Timmy from my lap, and followed Argos into the bedroom. He was taking toys and distributing them among beds. Not kidding. He had all the ball-type ones (6 total) on Timmy's bed, 3 on his bed (2 stuffed bears) and 2 on Lucky Girl's bed (2 stuffies) and nothing on Lucius bed. No idea what he as doing, but it was funny.
  6. Ok...I've had to wade through almost 300 pictures today...so here's my best... We left for the airport at 10:30 am. Argos arrived from Madrid via Delta airlines in Atlanta, GA at 2:40 pm. His plane landed on time but we didn't meet him until about 4pm. We waited so excitedly and impatiently with our 2 friends (and GRIN reps) Chris and Stacey. Finally, after the LONGEST morning I've had in forever...I saw him come out... We couldn't take him out inside the airport, but when we got outside we sprung him.. Argos and his buddy that also came from Scooby, an Ibizan Hound Torrento. After an encounter with a loading dock nazi police officer who was rude, condescending, and unprofessional...we got Argos in the car. Argos in his new home: And...he played....first day! You can't make this stuff up... Thanks for looking! He is currently asleep and sleep hunting...
  7. I totally agree. I was hoping to see some people who haven't had to deal with cancer answer the poll, but no one has so far. I have not had a greyhound with cancer but can't vote because it will skew the results. Since I have a no I then have to choose how many have had and there is no zero option.
  8. sending many thoughts and prayers your way...
  9. Timmy has no jammies but he was cold this morning, so we put on his snood and jacket.
  10. I think my Butters will be meeting them there too. He flew to the bridge as a baby...7 months old.
  11. Welcome from South Carolina, USA! She is beautiful!
  12. Thanks everyone for well wishes. We will try the natural macaroni. I'll go out and get Gatorade/pedialyte. I will ask for the giardia test. I appreciate the advice. Withholding food if he doesn't get better seems to be the way to go as well. Thanks again for all the well wishes....my poor boy needs them! No, haven't been around any water, thanfully. I do know that something has been going around though...and he goes out with me a lot so I wonder if he picked something up?
  13. Not to sound dumb...where do I find panacur? Is it a vet only thing? If I'm taking rice out, how much boiled meat? Yes, I think one store sells frozen billjac...would that be better???
  14. Not recently. The last time he was near a stream was over a month ago...I'll have to get the vet to check tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
  15. Timmy has never had extremely firm stool. When we got him he had tape worms...they were treated and when we went back for check-up to make sure they were gone he had whipworms. He had been wormed at the foster home a month prior. So...between worm treatemnts and what not his stool wasn't super firm and the vet said it was ok to be a lil soft right now. Well, this past week it has turned into full-on BIG D...as in, my boy who never goes in the house was going every few hours in it. My carpet is destroyed (bad...I'm in an apartment) and my apartment reeks. We've put him on boiled chicken and rice as per vet suggestion...he's just letting all the rice out in the D. It has gotten less in volume but worse in consistency...straight liquid. He has been getting immodium (also per vet suggestions) and it's not doing anything, or if it is it's just lessening the amount of D. He has a vet app. 1st thing in the AM...when I called monday it was the soonest I could get and other than D he's acting healthy...playful, snuggly, no crying, good appetite for the chicken/rice. Last week he threw up twice in a day but was fine after that so the vet said he musta just had a tummy ache and as long as he didn;t continue not to worry. We even put pumpkin in his food every meal for weeks to firm stool and it did nothing...well, besides turning stool orange. Suggestions? Well wishes needed...my poor baby is obviousy not feeling well. ******************************************************************* Timmy has not had the big D since Friday morning. The vet said he had a lot of bacteria in his tummy and gave us 2 medicines for it and some canned food made for this type of issue. She ran tests and said he is not sick with an illness but his tummy is not in the best shape right now. She had us start small with a half can and last night and today eh got a ful can to see how his tummy handled it. So far so good...no sickness but no stool at all yet. I'm assuming this is because his body needs all it is taking in right now?? He's more playful and this morning tried to get a squirrel so he's feeling better. When the week is over and meds are all done I will update again. He did lose 4 pounds over it though...so he's a little colder than normal but we'll put them back on and while he has no jammies he has blankies. Thanks everyone for the well wishes and suggestions for him! He's my heart dog and I have to admit...I got a stomach virus so I guess my body is being sympathetic! Please keep him in your thoughts as he gets to feeling better. Thanks everyone!!!
  16. What a beauty! Our Lucius has a chip of his ear missing...gives em character!
  17. Lucius barks and talks for quite a while 2x a day at least. Timmy never utters a sound other than a whine because I am in a differant room.
  18. I wish I could help...one of my boys was like that but we put him on a differant food and his is fantastic. My other boy has constant pudding and worse...and we've tried just about everything. Bump this along for you.
  19. Welcome from South Carolina! I agree...2 tvs and only one greyhound...something needs evened out!
  20. Lucius has strong urine in the mornings. He's healthy but it still smells a bit strong.
