  1. Hoping it isn't osteo and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
  2. Thanks for the update. My girl just passed the 11 1/4 mark. I go by small goals now since she is a CRF girlie. She also pants but not as much as Leia. Hugs to your girl.
  3. I am so very sorry Skeeterbug had to leave you. What a long, wonderful journey you had together. Godspeed, Skeeterbug.
  4. Yvaine sounds like the perfect boy in every way. I am so sorry he had to leave you. Godspeed, Yvaine.
  5. I am so sorry to hear about Kodie. Godspeed.
  6. My girl has white coat syndrome as well. When she had her BP done at the specialists, it was 268! At that point they nearly needed to take my BP. When her regular vet who is homecare comes and takes it, she has what he calls perfect BP (for a medicated PLN/CRF dog) of 160-170. There are a few people on here who can tell you how to take it at home, they were kind enough to do that for me. Would she let you take it? 40 mg of Enalapril sounds like a really heavy starter dose!
  7. I am not sure that we ever give up searching. These dogs affect us so deeply, that any sense of not achieving perfection (because none of us fails them, we do our best in the moment) seems to haunt us for lack of better words. Nadir knew you moved heaven and earth for him.
  8. Ann, breathe. Then breathe again. Whatever you are facing, you are not alone. So many of us have gone through osteo. When I went through it 10 years ago, I wish I had known about this forum. It would have helped so much. There is a wealth of information and support here. You and Bodhi are absolutely not alone. I wholeheartedly endorse reaching out to Dr. Couto, he is worth his weight in gold. No guilt. You didn't do anything. Bodhi isn't assigning any guilt. Just make every day the best it can be for you both.
  9. My heart fell when I read the topic title. I am so happy to read that Merlin is doing so well.
  10. I am so very sorry. Godspeed, Tractor.
  11. I am so happy to see that your boy is doing better!
  12. Not sure what the temperature difference is between here in NYC and where you are outside the city, but the heat has already been getting to Aquitaine this year. Much shorter walks. When we go out in the morning or at night and it is cool she is much perkier. It may be that the 45 minute walks are a thing of the past.
  13. I am just so very sorry. You did every possible thing you could for Red. Please believe in your love for him.
  14. You surely did not kill Sarge. It sounds like his problems stemmed from the home before you, and that you gave him the best possible time of his life. How happy he must have been to find himself with you. In a loving home, and no nasty crate. Just love, and care, good food and happiness. Please, please do not bear the burden of what took him from you.
  15. No words to add except that I am so very sorry. I did not realize that you had lost Red. I am truly sorry, I thought he had turned a corner for the better. I know that you did everything possible for him. Godspeed, Red.
  16. Sendings lots of prayers and hugs for Huston and for you.
  17. I am so happy that Blossom let herself trust you that day and so very sorry for your loss. Fly with the wind, Blossom.
  18. I am so very sorry. Fly fast and free, Tess.
  19. I am so very sorry. Godspeed, Sarge.
  20. Lots of good thoughts for a speedy, uneventful recovery.
  21. What a beautiful tribute to a truly lovely girl. Fly fast and free, Dory.
