  4. That stinks. I am so very sorry. Wishing you lots of time to love on and spoil Hobbes. Hugs to you, your husband, Wally and, of course, Hobbes.

  6. I am so very sorry. You, Happy and your husband are being held tightly in my thoughts.
  7. I am sorry. Could it be the dermal type? Our whippet had that 2 years ago before we got him. The vet was able to remove the tumors with clean margins and we haven't had a recurrence. Good thoughts coming your way!

  12. No advice, but good thoughts coming your way. To do what is best for Happy and not necessarily the best for you - what a difficult decision, but obviously will be made with love and all information available.

  16. we tried the homeopathic route for our whippet - rescue remedy, DAP and some other essence stuff, whose identity I obviously cannot recall. We also did tons of alone training and other behavioral things without success. It was why he was rehomed at age 11. Anyway, Clomicalm was tried, also without success. We then tried Reconcile, which is the pet version of prozac (it is chewable). He wouldn't chew them, so we opted not to pay the extra 50.00 per month and tried the generic prozac on the 4.00 walmart plan. Worked beautifully. No obvious side effects. He has been on it for 2 years and we have been very slowly tapering him down. We plan on going solo after the kids return to college after winter break. He has other issues which we think it helps, so we aren't in any hurry. His blood work is the best of our bunch and the vet is totally impressed with his physical health. He will be 13 in 2 months. Hope that helps!
