    My Sweet Jazz

I am so sorry. What a beautiful photograph.
  2. Congratulations! My whippet (who will be 13 a week from tomorrow - woohoo!) had a dermal hemangiosarcoma removed in the fall of 2007. Had to have surgery twice because of poor margins. He has had a few hemangiomas since then, but no recurrence. I, too, feed raw. My adoption coordinator is thrilled that my little guy is still kicking. He has surpassed all expectations.

    Honey Velvet

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl.
  4. Thanks for starting this thread! I had been thinking about doing this for a while. The first animal hospital I contacted put us on a list to be contacted and that never happended. I call EVBB this morning and Goose and Maverick have their first appointment on Feb. 11! It is a meet and greet appointment, but will be typed and whatnot. Hopefully, all will go well!
  5. I am so very sorry. My thoughts are with Pearl and you.
  6. This is a biggie with me. My son was diagnosed with undifferented sarcoma at the base of his spine when he was 11. A year or so earlier, he had fallen on a rail while rollerblading in the exact same spot. That was one of the questions I asked and was poo-pooed outright. He also had a major concussion at age 4 (contact was the base of the skull/top of the spinal column). I also wondered if the trauma could have travelled down. I would be very interested in what everyone hears and the theories out there. He is considered cancer free now, he is 18, but still has issues from it. Thank you for raising this! Cindy
  7. I so hear you and hope you get some good suggestions! Goose also digs after doing his thing. He throws up divets he scratches so hard. I walk him with a harness and would actually pull up slightly and tell him no dig right after he finished. It has only helped some, but at least now if I fuss at him, he will stop.
  8. I am so sorry. Thank you for taking care of your handsome boy in his time of need.
  9. Donna - I am so very sorry to read this. We will be thinking of you. Cindy - GPA-MD.

    Vixen

I am so sorry. I was so hoping she would pull through. What a character!
  15. I am so very sorry for your loss.
  16. I noticed blood on the floor (and numerous other flat surfaces). Zoe has managed to strip the fur from between the two longest toes on her rear leg. The webbing itself appears to be intact. Before seeing the actual wound, I soaked the foot in epsom salts and warm water. It is still oozing/bleeding. Not a lot, but she leaves a trail. Should I pack gauze and wrap it? EMT gel and a bootie? I have no clue how to handle this one. She is licking it, but doesn't appear to be in pain or stressed. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
  17. My deepest condolences for such a senseless loss.

    Bailey

  19. Your tribute was beautiful, as was Hobbes. I am so very sorry for your loss.
  20. I am just so sorry. There are so many here who are experiencing the same emotions as you are. By your description, it is apparent that he knew he was loved and he loved in return. He is not truly gone, but is safely tucked into your heart. Look around you and he will send you a sign that all is well. It is different for many, you just need to open your heart to the possibility. I hope that sounds okay, I don't mean for it to sound condenscending or rude. I have seen rainbows in strange placees after the death of a beloved pet and the vision instantly brought me comfort. May this happen to you.
