  1. Wendy's coat was not in bad shape to begin with. She had two, silver-dollar sized bald spots on her neck and one on one butt-cheek. I began giving her 5 mgs. Melatonin with dinner and told myself that if I didn't see any noticeable improvement within 3 months, I'd call it quits. Let me tell you gang, this stuff is amazing! Wendy's previously nice coat is now superb. Full and fluffy and mega-watt shiny. If only Melatonin worked as well for my thinning hair! Oh, and no sleepiness nor (additional ) dopeyness. I agree with this.
  2. Welcome Alani Joi! I'm in Miami, too. Did you adopt Sir ByeRun from Friends of Greyhounds?
  3. I purchased one for Wendy. She was supremely uninterested.

Oh, Kim. Words just never suffice. May you find strength and peace. Rest easy Miss Stinkerbelle.
  5. Dance straight into the arms of the angels sweet girl. Grace, peace and strength to you, Susan.
  6. Yup - I have a similar situation. Wendy will not eat if I am in the kitchen with her. When she first came home, I had a Tupperware avalanche fall on both of us when I opened a cabinet. I will put her food down and leave the room. She will follow me to make certain that I am sitting down elsewhere and then proceed to eat. The Momma is dangerous in the kitchen!
  7. The only thing that finally did the trick for Wendy was a very low/to no grain diet and adding Fortifora once a day to her meals. I get it from Entirely pets - http://www.entirelypets.com/fortifloradog.html
  8. Ekko, may angels surround you and protect you as you rest and heal. Hugs to you, Claudia.
  9. Sorry to be dense...Does this apply to the breakaway collars, as well?
  10. Let's see - green tripe, canned Wellness CORE, sardines, jack mackerel, organ meats (beef/chicken), scrambled eggs.
  11. Pretty girl...rest in peace.
  12. http://www.majesticcollars.com/ and http://www.2houndsdesign.com/ These are my fav harness vendors.
  13. We had the same issue with Wendy when she first came home. DH and I are not dogs-in-the human-bed people and DH was not keen on having a dog in the bedroom, period. Soooo, we tried to baby gate Wendy in the dining room. Whine, whine, jump. Over the gate and into our bedroom. We then put TWO baby gates up, one above the other. Whine, whine, scratch. Finally, I convinced DH to give the poor girl her own bed in our bedroom. Wendy is happy, I am happy and DH now likes having the pup in the bedroom. Can you put a bed for your houndie in your room?
  14. Hi Lisa! It's nice to meet you and another of Wendy's siblings. There is definitely a resemblance. Summer's pretty face looks a lot like Wendy's as does her body-type. Kiowa's kids rule!

  15. Praying for more happy, healthy years and for strength and peace if a decision needs to be made. Hugs and scritches.
  16. I wonder if there have been any changes in the home, either physical or emotional? Or if something may have frightened him while you were out? Might this have provoked SA?

I am so very sorry. Please stay. Let us comfort you.
  18. In addition to Wellness CORE kibble and canned food and assorted raw meats and bones, Wendy gets Salmon Oil twice a day, and once a day, glucosamine & chondroitin (from Ms. Claudia at Greyhound Gang), Fortiflora (for ) and a PetTab Plus with dinner.
  19. Yikes! Thanks for the heads-up. Wendy is going for her vaccinations, fecal and annual check-up next week.

    A Place For Ryan

Gentle hugs. Sharing in your grief.
  21. My neutered-practically-at-birth Rhodesian Ridgeback air-humped every morning till the day he died. Vet said just doggie silliness. Maybe your girl is coming into heat?
