  1. If you order Cosequine (or maybe Dasaquine which I'm going to investigate) see if your vet can order you a larger bottle--ours does and it saves me a tone of money compared to buying it in the 90 count bottles.
  2. I'm so sorry to see this--prayers for Lacey Laine and her family
  3. My thought would be that it's more likely a bug than the Heartguard, since they've taken it for so long.
  4. Never heard of it--does anyone have a link to a description?

    Oscar

Oh Oscar, I will miss you and your wonderful diary entries. I'm sure you're enjoying all the sunbeams you want now.
  6. My vet said it works about as well as cosequine, for about the same price, it's a matter of which you prefer--pills every day or injections once a month (once you get through the front loading).
  7. He is 8, I don't remember the specific drug, but she gave a mild sedative going in, and that eliminated the thrashing around as he emerges from the anethesia, and she didn't need to use any valium post-anesthesia. He also recovered a lot faster.
  8. In my experience, these are almost unavoidable with bandaging. I would put a little bit of that neosporin w/pain relief on it, and keep it loosely covered with a baby sock, so it gets air but she leaves it alone.
  9. You're not a bad mom, it sounds like she's no worse for the wear today. I would talk to the vet about something to give her in the future during fire works.
  10. Everything was great--the vet tried a slightly different anethesia prodical and he came out of the anesthesia much better than before--and now he has clean shiny teeth
  11. Everything should be routine, and his favorite vet tech is there to spoil him today, but some good thoughts for him and his nervous mommy please.
  12. Glad to hear he came through surgery just fine
  13. Care Credit--depending on the deal your vet has with them, and the amount of the charge, the balance will be interest free for 6 to 18 months.
  14. Patrick had some problems with it--extreme difficulty walking, real clingyness, if he were a person I would say he was being paranoid, vet said not to use it with him again. As for the cosequine, I haven't heard about it combatting rimadyl problems, but it's worked wonderfully for joint support.
  15. Glad he's home--his behavior is more about the drugs in his system than his feelings about you, I'm sure. He'll come around.
  16. I can't believe she's gone. You most certainly didn't fail her--anyone here could see how greatly she was loved and cared for. Godspeed little one.
  17. Such good news--welcome home little man
  18. Prayers and good thoughts for all of you, especially little Cody Angelo.
  19. Dog temps run higher than human temps. As for her elbow, I forget what they're called (sorry, see the thread on insomnia), but if it feels soft and fluid filled it could be solved by a bit more comfortable bedding, and will probably resolve on its own relatively quickly.
  20. Hoping he's okay, but I know what you mean about being the worrying mom, probably a good idea to get him checked out (I always figure if nothing turns out to be wrong, it was worth it for my peace of mind.)
  21. I'm so sorry--I'm also local so let me know if I can be of any help.
  22. You could try putting a baby sock on it when she goes out doors. If she'll leave it on, it will keep the wound clean but let it breath.
