  1. See about the stiff, turtleneck like collar (can't remember the name right now)--I have one and it seems much more comfortable and less frightening for the dog.
  2. I'm so sorry for your loss--what a sudden and shocking way to loose such a special girl.
  3. I was so sorry to hear Lacey Laine had gone to the bridge--she was one heck of a special lady and will never be forgotten.
  4. Just reading this--hang in there Lacers, sending prayers for you and your mom and dad.
  5. You and Kiowa have been through a lot together, I'm sorry life is getting so hard for him as he gets older. At least he knows without a shadow of a doubt that he is loved.
  6. Cosequine is glucose supplement, for joint health.
  7. Hugs and prayers for you and your loved ones.
  8. I have used it for 4 years (I think) with great results. I use the sprinkle capsules. Also, I've found it's much, much cheaper to have the vet order a year's worth at once instead of the smaller bottles.
  9. it could also be a sebacious cyst--Patrick had one between his toes--they're only a problem if they are bothering the dog.
  10. Good news--Lacey Laine you look very pretty in your collar with your matching bear
  11. Does Banfield really keep an exotics vet on hand? I wouldn't take my littles to someone who doesn't do exotics unless it was an emergency and I had no choice, they're too tricky.
  12. I wonder if the pain meds are part of why she's not getting up? Maybe she feels off kilter from those? I'm giving blood today, and sending all of the good karma to Darcy, hang in there sweetie
  13. So I wouldn't panic, but you're the mom and if you really feel like something is off, it's probably worth a vet check, if only to ease your mind. (I'm the same way)
  14. What a sweet girl--she looks really good after her surgery--sending healing prayers.
  15. Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about Darcy--sending gentle hugs.
  16. Depends. Blood draws, I stay because we've learned Patrick behaves himself for mommy, not so much if it's just the vet. The emergency stiching he needed, daddy stayed to help hold him. Surgeries, no way, that's not a place for me at least. The little's, stuff is done in the room, except X-rays, and I've always been there with them for euthanasias.
  17. Godspeed Freddie--you were always such a brave, special boy.
  18. Such wonderful news! Good girl Lacey Laine
  19. I'm so sorry, I always enjoyed hearing your stories about her. Hugs to you and Renee.
  20. Charlie, you passed on yesterday, with mommy holding you and daddy petting you. I'm sorry you were sick, but at least you were able to go be with your brothers in peace and you're not in pain anymore. I remember picking you and your brother Arnold up at the guinea pig rescue--you two were so delighted to discover hay, and we had so much fun watching you explore, popcorn, and discover all kinds of new foods. When Jakie came to us, sick, angry, and then stayed healthy and a pest, you were nice to him, and when he got cancer you seemed to understand he was ill and took extra care of him, shared food, snuggled him. When your brother Arnold passed on, you were cuddled up with him--you always seemed like a nurse pig. You were the nicest guinea pig I've ever had, which is saying a lot given how nice guinea pigs were. You stayed friends with Gretta, even though she's grouchy, and you came to trust Sammy, even though she moves fast and could be scary. Bye bye baby, Godspeed. I'm sure Jakie is throwing you a party, and I hope you're enjoying seeing your brother Arnold again. love, mommy.
  21. Patrick came chipped, 5 years ago. I have the vet check periodically, and it's still where it should be. If I had a dog who didn't come chipped I would chip them--any extra safety backup is worth it imo.
  22. make sure you let the vet know, if possible, what kind of candle wax she ate.
  23. I think when I measured, I went with the length measurement and it fits fine.
  24. I didn't know tramadol was so cheap at Target--thanks Lynn!
  25. tramadol has worked very well here for arthritis, and it's pretty affordable.
