  5. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl.
  6. We walk everyday 2 times no matter what, I have a double fleece and also put on 2 snoods, one for neck and one for the ears in this single digit wind chill weather. Max loves the cold and hates the heat, he is a Noo England Greyhound ! I also have a Chili Dogs rain coat for him and he is fine in rain as long as it isn't blowing in his face. He stays pretty warm if he keeps moving and he dictates how long, if he statues, we are done. I have a fenced yard for him to do zoomies and like many others have said, it is not enough for him to just walk @ yard, he loves his walkies and so did my Bridge girl, no boots, only if there is an injury and I walk @ parks and not on pavement mostly.
  7. Sending big hugs to you Phyllis and hoping it stays in remission.
  8. She sounds like she is doing great and the cute wrap and her smile . I think if the wrap works, keep that on, others will chime in w/suggestions, although the t-shirt is a good idea. You are taking great care of Daisy and it will mean the world to her and her comfort while battling this disease!!
  9. I am so sorry,Daisy is beautiful !! My Sara was diagnosed w/Hemangio and had an in-operable mass in her spine in between 2 discs, she also had spots in her lungs, she was not a candidate for surgery, they felt that the area it was in was too difficult to get @, it was intertwined and they felt that she would bleed out, she was almost 11 yrs old, she had also battled GME 5 years earlier and had done a whole year of chemo then, had lived 5 more years. We lost her within the week of getting her Hemangio diagnosis. Sending prayers and good thoughts that you get some more time w/your girl
  10. I am so sorry, he was beautiful and your tribute was too, Godspeed Cody.
  11. I am so sorry, she was beautiful.
  12. I am so sorry, reading Cody's story brought back my loss of Sara to Hemangio, although not Lymphoma, she too presented w/pain and weaness in her back end, the vets thought LS but after a spinal and MRI, they found a huge mass in her spine, not operable and aslo like you told me to "bring her home and spoil her" it was less than a week from the time she was seen by the specialist. You did everything you could to help Cody, it is hard not to keep re-thinking and second guessing, I am still doing it months later. Try to think of the "happy times" and be kind to yourself.
  13. Sending healing thoughts for your girl, we are dealing w/an anal gland abcess right now that won't completely heal, it's a tough area to have a problem with, hoping Peace is feeling better soon.
  14. I'm so sorry, he was so young, my heart breaks for you and your son.
  15. Too many, hugs to all who lost their precious babies, thanks for honoring my Sara, she is my 1st loss, I am still broken hearted, hoping 2013 is a better year for all.
  16. I am so sorry, she was so beautiful
  17. She is beautiful, hoping she continues to heal and enjoy life!
  18. Crying and sad over your loss of Jilly Bean, although I never met her, I loved your stories of her and felt that I knew her too. My deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your family.
  19. Oh no, I am so very sorry she had to leave you, how heartbreaking . My deepest sympathy, was so hoping too that she was going to pull through this.
  20. Hmm, Liver Sausage, Ricemilk cheese, have never tried those. I am using liquid antibiotics, more $ but easier, just squirt in back of mouth. He was refusing foods he usually loved thinking that I was hiding pills in everything. It is looking much better, keeping fingers crossed that it continues to improve.
  21. Thank you for this, yes he has a drain hole too and it has been draining, very gross and the duct is still working properly. What is The Missing Link? He is doing better today, I am doing warm compresses on it a few times daily. I will do everything to avoid surgery too and my Vet does not want to do surgery either, she thinks the infection can be cleared up. I have not started his new antibiotic yet, I filled it and read the bottle and saw that it cannot be taken w/dairy products and the "King" will not take pills without cheese so, I am giving old antibiotic until Vet gets back culture tomorrow/Sat.and determines the exact one he should be on. In the meantime he is sleeping w/a big smile- Metacam, home cooked supper and lots of love. I will give him xtra kisses from you. Topical antibiiotics sound like a great idea, I am doing warm compresses too, he is not thrilled w/having his butt touched!
  22. My sweet Max, 10 yr old boy, was treated for a ruptured Anal Abcess in the left Anal sac on December 2nd @ the Emergency Vet. They cleaned it out under sedation and he has been on antibiotics/pain meds, and the dreaded cone of shame. It started to clear up and now after our 2nd re-check w/my own Vet, it is still infected. She cleaned it up again and pulled a sample to check for Tumor cells and it was also sent out to cytology to find out type of bacteria as the other antibiotic did not clear it up. She did not see any Tumor cells so hoping there is nothing there. While we are waiting til Saturday fror results to come back, we are trying another antibiotic used for Ecoli based bacteria, more pain meds. Max is a sad boy, he does not take pills well and I had to have meds in liquid form, tried all the tricks, he is spoiled with many add ins to his kibble so ... it has not been fun for us. This is our 1st time w/Anal Sac issues so we are lucky in that aspect, but.. if you could please keep Max in your prayers, hoping we don't have to have this Sac removed.
