They make erythromycin with an enteric coating, but my Vet says that a dogs digestive system cannot breakdown the enteric coating like we do. Best to let the Vet see if there is another abx that can help. Certain atibiotics work on certain bugs, so she would have to match up the right drug.............

Padding them popped into my head too. I've taken care of humans with external fixators..........I can't imagine they are real comfortable to lay on. Ouch!

Antibiotics can cause loose poops too. See if your Vets says it's ok to give her yogurt. Get some of that normal flora back in her system.

Nevada came home again to me today............. I picked up her ashes & the lovely paw print that the Vet made for me. I will treasure that. It's nice to have her home again, but it was difficult. Makes everything seem so real. I keep looking for her to greet me at the door & I swear that I hear her tags jingle as she trotts by. I know that time will help. It just hurts. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I will carry her in my heart forever.

Over her last 6 months Nevada lost quite a bit of weight. The Vet did say it was due to some neuro issues since it happened so rapidly towards the end.
