  1. What a handsome boy.............So very sorry!
  2. Nevada had multiple accidents as she aged. I used my steam cleaner with OdoBan in it. You'd never know the carpet has been pee'd on.
  3. I had to start blocking off small corners/spaces with pillows so that Nevada didn't get lost and stuck in them. I also put down many, many throw rugs to cover the tile floors. She still would find spots to fall on......poor old gal. My advice is to get down on the floor & look at her world from that vantage point. You'd be amazed at the places you never thought to protect her from. Give her hugs from me.........
  4. At the very end, Nevada was getting stuck in small places & crying for me to get her out. She looked lost. I think she had some Neuro issues going on due to the Cushings Disease. She also had to be reminded to eat & once started- to continue to eat. She began falling. It was sad. I'm sure there were dementia issues going on at 15+ years old. I didn't have her PTS because of any inconvience, it was due to I couldn't keep her safe and she was hurting herself. I did it out of love...
  5. How WONDERFUL! I'm so happy for you. You're right-who knows if there is ever a right time. I'm hoping that Nevada sends the right pup to me also.
  6. Sounds like you have the situation under control & are heading down the right path. Best wishes to you all........

I'm so sorry for your loss. PM me if you need to talk...........I've been there recently too.
  8. Run swiftly Jade............look for my Nevada to play with you.............
  9. Thank you for sharing this important information. We appreciate you!
  10. Yup..........anesthesia is probably the culprit. If he is still queezie try just giving him ice cubes to lick. I'd wait till the morning to feed him a bland diet. He should be fine then.
  11. Yup.......add some yummy chicken broth to the rice.
  12. I completely understand your painful situation. Nevada went thru exactly the same thing & I finally had to make the painful decision like you. We have to protect them when they can no longer do it themselves. PM me if you need to talk. I completely understand. Hugs to you all........
  13. If he has stress diarrhea, I would let his gut rest right now. My Vet suggested some old fashioned chicken soup to stimulate Nevada's appetite.
  14. Try giving some Pepcid to see if that helps.
  15. I go to Katie Andre at Bethany Animal Hospital. She's been a friend for years & treated Nevada fantastic. Some people like her & others don't. I find her compassionate & reasonable in both treatment & cost. She's the Vet for Fast Dogs/Fast Friends.
  16. Yep. Poor old Nevada (15+) didn't handle the heat well either. And we don't have your high humidity. I thought about her this week & was greatful that she doesn't have to deal with this summer heat. Give that boy some ice cream!!

  18. I think that you made a wonderful decision for your Bodie & for other greyhounds. Thank you!
  19. What a beautiful angel............
  20. No canine experience, but my mother (age 76) has CLL. You are right........if you're going to have leukemia-this is the one that you want. My mother is on no treatment.
  21. Awww. They start to get a little fragile at that age. I noticed that Nevada started to loose her balance more often as she got around 14-15 years old. Give her kisses from me........
  22. Keeping everyone in my thoughts............
  23. I'm so sorry. I hope that my Nevada met him at the bridge & is showing him the way...............She'd like your beautiful boy!
