  1. Ahhhhhhh Lisa. I'm so very sorry. I dread the day when I will have to post the same about Nevada. They just don't stay with us long enough. But the happy moments far out weigh the sorrow. Hopefully some of those moments will help to heal up that hole. She will always be with you...............XXOO Carol & Nevada
  2. OMG........what a beautiful boy. I'm in love. Actually, it doesn't look that bad to me. I'm a old Ortho nurse. I used to work with external fixators all the time........the human type though!
  3. Sending healing thoughts your way. I know what you're going thru. Nevada has a thoracic/lumbar disc problem. She can't have Pred or the depo shots due to her cushings disease. We're keeping her comfortable with anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers.
  4. Boy I sure hope so. I had VF in 2000.........the treatment was not fun!
  5. Good to hear the improvement. When you mentioned the cough, I suspected that he had it down his throat also. Nasty! Now..........how do you make a GH "swish & swallow" Nystatin?
  6. Looks like classic thrush to me. Has he been on antibiotics lately?
  7. I know how you feel. Nevada's cushings disease has flared up again and I'm having to adjust her medication again. When she has to get additional Mitotane her back end gets weak & wobbly and at 15 years old, that's hard on her. Today her back end was weak & she wanted so bad to be on the sofa-so she would put her front end up there and then look at me to hoist her back end up there. Poor girlie-she looked so pathetic. But she sure enjoyed her nap on the sofa and looked so sweet. That face just keeps me going.........
  8. Bless the new angel girlie...........
  9. Good news. Don't be surprized if he gets more of them as time goes on. Nevada has many.
  10. Hopefully the pred will help reduce the swelling until you can get a treatment plan going. Give her a cookie for me..........
  11. Hopefully it's just a fatty tumor. Nevada has many & are nothing to worry about. Paws crossed for you..........
  12. Oh goodness, that looks so painful. Almost looks like ulcers. She sure needs a Vet visit ASAP.
  13. Sending you a huge hug..............
  14. Oh geez Lisa! Don't know what to say...........she is so beautiful. These old gals are such sweeties. Be strong. PM me if you need me..............Carol
  15. Please be careful with the MRSA. Humans can contract it & it is very difficult to treat. Did you find out anything about his screaming when he eats? Hope things go well for you & your boy.
  16. I'm so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful way to pass to the bridge-in her favorite spot in the shade.
  17. Never used it on my GH, but I used it once on myself when I had a bad sunburn. Great stuff.
  18. At 15 years old Nevada's back end is not as stable as it use to be. She also has Cushings Disease & a thoracic/lumbar disc problem that also effects her back end. Getting old sucks..........
  19. When Nevada started having accidents (before she was diagnosed with Cushings Disease) she used a pee pad. I put the pads down over the spot where she had her accidents. Luckily, she always went for the same spot. I found that the reusable ones work best. I found them at Bed, Bath & Beyond and at Walmart. They are used for incontinent humans. I place an old towel over them to absorb more urine. Then I just wash them daily. I wash them with Odo-Ban. Training Nevada was easy, hope it is for you also...........Carol
  20. Nevada was on Tramadol for her back problems & it didn't work well for her. She gets very nervous on them, drinks excessively and leaks urine when she takes Tramadol.
  21. What are you holding the maxi pad in place with? I'm wondering if it would help to get a mesh type/tube dressing that I think we use to call stockinette. We use to use it with humans to hold odd dressings in place. It comes in different diameters.
