EllenEveBaz
Thanks for the pic post, Ducky. Yes, Gelsey is a great fit for our pack. She doesn't let Milo boss her around, but she's not pushy about it. She learned quickly to be respectful of Jeter's space when he's lying down. In return, he evidently senses that she has no scheming designs on his horizontal territory (unlike some lurchers I could name) and he lets her get closer more often than he does Milo. She and Milo run around the yard together. She's gotten calmer on leash. She's learned not to lunge at food. She still finds something new and exciting to chew up every day. She has to be trained not to jump up on people with every.single.person who comes to the house. Once she's been told "no" for one person, she remembers, but a new person is fresh meat! People may recall me posting years ago about Jeter barking whenever I left or returned to the house. Now he's stopped! He stands next to Gelsey, looking forlorn but blessedly silent when I leave. And when I come home, he trots happily tossing a stuffy, to his assigned rug and lies down and is calm. Is it something about Gelsey in particular, or does he just feel more secure with a larger pack? Or a coinky-dinky? GreyPoopon
Other than the chewing and fresh meat, that's a very positive report.
