Zoomdoggie
8 years, 8 months. I got him as a 9 week old puppy. Never raced or saw a track. Neutered at 2 years old. After his initial round of puppy vaccinations, he never had another one for the rest of his life. We did an amputation and 3 rounds of chemo. He lived for nearly 2 more years, until it metastasize into his lungs.

dlgwarner
Ringo was just 5. His was growing from his cervical spine. I’m hoping for the best for your pup, but if it does turn out to be osteo, I highly recommend Hope Veterinary Specialists in Frazer. I live in the Philly suburbs too and Hope is fantastic. Paul, Ringo’s littermate was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma at the age of 11. I took him to Hope and he was treated by Dr. Craig Clifford. (Hope has an excellent oncology department.) The kind of lymphoma Paul had doesn’t usually respond well to chemo and when it does, remission doesn’t often last long. Well, Paul went through the full course of chemo, tolerated it well and went into complete remission. He was off chemo for a full year. Unfortunately he relapsed at the end of the summer and crossed the bridge at the end of September at 13, but we had 18 great months that were never expected when we found out it was t-cell. Quote Mom to: Littermates Ringo (Pak Sgt Pepper)at the bridge, Paul (Pak Penny Lane) and John (Pak Let it Be). The three reunited Beatle Brothers. Zoomdoggie
I replied just over a week ago, about my first Greyhound. But a couple days ago, my 3-1/2 year old Greyhound started limping. Today x-rays showed no obvious bone damage, but I'm feeling very low right now. The vet couldn't find any other source of the pain. Praying. Sundrop
I am so very sorry. We lost our dear, sweet Tilly @ 8.5 years old to bone cancer. Originally we were told she'd had a stroke, but after several weeks of rehab and an intensive neuro consult with an MRI - another x-ray was done and they found the mass. We lost her only a couple weeks later. We initially took her in right before Christmas due to limping, which quickly turned to complete lameness on that leg. We lost her on 5 February and she would've turned 9 on 1 August.
Guest RedandRobbysDad
One of ours started favoring and then limping because of a painful rear foot. Vet couldn't find anything except a spot on one of his pads. We doctored it with a triple antibiotic cream with a pain killer in it for weeks and weeks. It seemed to get better and then he started favoring the other back foot. He has not raced (short leg) and is going on 4. His only medical issues have been a severe infection when he was neutered and lots of worms. To make a very long story short, he eventually starting favoring it less and is now back to normal. We think he must a bruised it or whatever was imbedded was dissolved. But, it took almost two months, so hang in there. Grant
