Guest carriej
Hi there, I have owned two greyhounds over the years (retired racers) and fostered a few. Unfortunately lost both my boys this summer, Freeman in June to bone cancer, and Kowalla to a possible ruptured undiagnosed intestinal tumor. Brought home my newest foster on the weekend; and he is very sweet. 2 Year old boy named Rich Gannon; we will most likely end up keeping him Here are my two boys who are now gone (Freeman on the left, Kowalla on the right) And here is my newest foster Rich Gannon. Guest carriej
Rich's brother Boomer is here in NB too , they were brought up together. The picture is a bit deceiving because he looks so small in it; but he's average size male at about 73 pounds. I am in Miramichi, NB. There are a handful of greys here, but not too many. Was really tough the lose the dogs; and not going to lie it's made me a bit paranoid. Freeman started limping one day and just shy of a month later we had to euthanize because he was unable to walk and the pain meds weren't working... He had bone cancer at the top of the femur that hooks into the hip. If anyone even touched him he would just scream-yelp. Heartbreaking. Our other guy deteriorated out of the blue over about 4 days. Something ruptured (suspected tumor) internally (he was severely anemic and losing blood in his stool) and he already had a brain tumor that we knew about and were treating, but every vet we spoke to pretty much told us that we didn't really have any options... Was really hard to make those decisions.
galgrey
Welcome to GT. I want to add my condolences on the loss of your two boys. It's extra hard losing two close together.
