Ingestion Of 1/2 Loaf Of Bread

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Zero's daddy here. I went to the grocery store and made another quick stop. While I was in the store Zero got into my shopping band and ate 1/2 loaf of very dense whole wheat bread.

Should I take him to the vet? What should I look out for? I know lots of poop to come. What. Should I do? Just one piece of this bread is is 100 calories, contains 4 grams of fiber. He probably ate ten plus slices.

Sincerely,

Tony

If you're lucky, it'll be nice firm poop, just a bit more than usual :) .

In my house I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe no dinner. but I am sure it will pass with no issues.

Be prepared with extra poop bags tomorrow. :lol

Bootsy ate an entire loaf of raisin bread once. Because he's made of diamonds, he was totally fine.

Shouldn't be a concern. If he at 3-4 loaves of bread and then drank a full bowl or two of water, I'd worry. Half a loaf and no (or a reasonable amount) of water, he should be just fine. A nice snack :) .

Otherwise Zero is doing great. He's 7 & 1/2, this coming February I will have had him three years. Got him right from the track. He's a wonderful boy, my best friend. I think Santa will bring him lots of cool stuff this Christmas......despite the fact that he is a little devil :)

One of my dainty little girls ate more than half a loaf of whole wheat. She was fine--and was horribly offended when I withheld dinner from her. (That was her first and last counter-surfing episode.)

Sam fished a moldy half-loaf out of the trash and ate it through the holes in his muzzle. (Sam's a dedicated trash-bin diver.)

Cookie has taught us many lessons about keeping food off the counters- especially bread, lol!

I remember one summer I was visiting my dad (who does not have a Cookie proof kitchen) and he was getting things around for grilling. Heard all of this rustling, and lo and behold, Cookie was helping herself to a loaf of Italian bread while my dad was outside turning the meat.

She's cleaned out my refrigerator before so I had to put a lock on it. Chinese food, yogurt, lunch meat, cheese...even tried to undo the top on the parm. cheese container, lol.

I think he'll be ok!

Kevin once got into a bunch of bananas. Peeled them though. Isn't it fun when they do things like this?

totally OT but there was a guy that used to post here who told the story of how his hound ate bananas and then pooped the peels out whole. I couldn't resist asking, 'So when your hound peeled out like that, did he leave skid marks?' (think about it for a second)
