brandimom
Godspeed Smokey and may the wind always be at your back. I love the tribute you did with those pictures. Smokey certainly did enjoy his stuffies whether they were "gutted" or not. Some wonderful memories for you.

Guest mecki
Although I never met Smokey in person, his passing has touched our home. Smokey and my dog Sully (C’s Pistol) were siblings and shared the same eye disease of PRA. I guess that's why I took a special interest in him and would check online periodically at the kennel to see if he had been adopted. Then one day I was so happy to hear that Lynda and Rick would be giving him a forever home. It was always nice to hear how well he was doing and see how happy and sweet he looked in any pictures she sent. The photos you posted here show a dog so full of love and life well lived. My heart goes out to you both. You must miss him terribly. Godspeed Smokey. Sully sends love.
Hawthorn
I did enjoy those pictures of your baby boy, and the little stories about him too. So sorry he had to leave . Maddiesmom
Smokey was one of my favorites when this group of dogs came through Charlotte (the others were a brother and sister team) Smokey was the one that I would let out last for a potty break. I used for lunch hours to let the dogs out as they were staying at a kennel that was like a mile from my office. Smokey LOVED to have the sun on his face and I would usually be late getting back to the office as it was so nice to see him lounging in the sun with his red ball. He loved that red ball. He made me realize that it was time to slow down and enjoy life. I knew our days were coming to a close and that he would be moving on til I heard that Rick and Lynda adopted him and I would be seeing Smokey a lot. He amazed me the way he got around in new places (Like Mountain Hounds). Smokey loved his stuffies, he destroys them . Sometimes I wish Maddie would destroy hers as we have so many that we are on a toy buying hiatus. Run free Smokey and find your brother Toby and your Sister Sugar, and the others. We will miss you tons. Let your Mommy and Daddy know you are ok. Amy and MAddie Quote Amy Human Mommy to fur baby Maddie (Doobiesaurus) TDI certified.
