Your fabulous caretaker Kelly called to say there was something very wrong and I had to come home immediately. She called your wonderful vet Andy and I ran into the middle of Eight Avenue and threw myself in a cab. I got home to see my big girl on her side and virtually flying around the room. I learned two words that day that I have to admit that I hate. Status epilepticus. Hate those words. Hate that they took you away from me. I loved you baby girl. You were a great big (97 lb) galoot of a girl. You had space agression issues. You had food agression issues. You had separation anxiety. But you were also a kick-a** therapy dog. You knew just where to go at the nursing home. You let the patients love on you, hug your head and just stood there for them. A week before you left me, you interviewed to be an in-home therapy dog visitor to the elderly and ill who were homebound. You truly impressed the interviewer. You left me three weeks after your 6th birthday. You just didn't have enough time. The sharp, tense look you had for so long was softening. You were truly starting to believe that you really were at home. You had bounced through several foster homes. Not through any fault of your own, they just kept moving you from state to state trying to find you your forever home. You found it my girl, I truly wish you could have stayed there longer. I miss you so much my big goofy girl. You had so much love inside you and you were a champion roacher, I miss seeing your big grin and your pink belly.
