Guest cms121979
I got a return call from the vet a little while ago. The necropsy is complete. Echo had a major aorta and vena cava tear that caused him to bleed out. It was a sudden event that the vet feels literally took him within minutes. He feels that the tear happened, he passed out from blood loss and he went when he was unconcious. So there is some grace in knowing he went quietly and quickly, but there is no consolation to loosing my precious boy so soon. I adopted him Sept 27th 2009, and he was taken from me Oct 18th 2010. A year was certainly not long enough, but we sure did make that one hell of a year! Thank you all for your condolences. Not many people can understand how simply amazing these dogs are and just how much they can change your life.

Guest cms121979
Echo had a minor love affair with my footwear. He would pull my slippers out from the closet and use them as his pillow, and he would play with any other shoes that happened to be either left out or somewhere he could get to them. He never chewed them, he just tossed them around. I think redecorating the house with my shoes helped his aura flow better! Gentle, sweet, goofy, sincere, always willing to give you his opinion - Echo was taken way too soon. Thank you all for the kind words. Its going to be some time before I can think about allowing another grey to grace my life. But I promised him that because of him, and because of the love we shared, that I will definitely give another special needs child a permanent home. He was difficult, stubborn, always wanted to do things his way, but he soothed my aching heart. He brought me back to life after I lost another dog. Its just amazing how that needle nose and piercing eyes worked their magic. Edited October 20, 2010 by cms121979
