Houndtime Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 (edited) I called NGAP to confirm Paul's appointment for tomorrow and ask why no one called with the results of his blood work. The receptionist says she left a message on my voice mail, canceling, but I did not receive it. There is no doctor there, at this time. I don't know what to do. Paul has been taking antibiotics for a week now in preparation for the surgery, had his blood work, and a urine test last week. I am so upset. I don't know whether to take him someplace else as he does have this growth on his leg. Michelle says it should be resolved shortly, but what does that mean. She says she doesn't know what the issue is. I have been on edge all week because of the upcoming surgery and now I am just deflated. I am actually crying. We wound up coming home from the seashore through Philadelphia today. Paul went to Dr. Newman, our regular vet, last week to get his eyes checked. He had a small skin growth on his leg, that I didn't even bother to show them. I thought it was just one of the cysts that the dogs get as they get older. Brandy had a few. Over the weekend, this pea sized lump is now a dime and is very red. We took him to be checked at NGAP this morning; the doctor thinks it is benign, but we will biopsy it anyway. He will have surgery next Tuesday and a dental then as well, probably lose three or four more teeth (he only has nine left), and most likely stay overnight. They did senior blood work and gave me antibiotics to start him today on prior to the surgery. Think good thoughts for him. He is a very special boy.
