Lilysmom
Lily had to be rushed to the vet yesterday, (7am e.s.t); we were taking a short walk and she wouldn't walk back home, therefore I had to carry her home, I put her on the couch to rest and noticed that her nose was bleeding. We rushed her to the e-vet, who was a JOKE!!!! Left there to head to my vet since my vet wasn't in untill 8am. She had bloodwork done, xrays and stayed for observation. thank god they love her there so I know she was in great hands. Everything came back good except her dental xrays, those will be sent to a specialist for review. Fast forward to last night: It was horrible!!!!! Lily hardly slept, all she would do is stand still and act as if she was afraid to move, she wouldn't lay down, nothing would console her. She did manage to lay on the couch for a couple of hours and I layed on the dog beds. The nose bleeding appears to have halted but she is acting like something may be dripping down the back of her throat. She yelps when you touch her face. Right now she is laying on the back porch, we have a vet appointment at 10:20 am this morning, however if anything changes before then they said to come right in. I know I'm rambling but we are so very scared for her......we just don't know what it could be. Poor dh has an event to cater today and can't go to the vet with us, he is devistated, I'm trying to hold it together for both of us, but it's hard. I just want to thank Marueen (tinymitymo) and Amanda (guinnessthegreyt) for letting me ramble and boo hoo to them yesterday. Thank goodness my sister will go with me for moral support. please, please everyone pray for our dear girl, she is 12 and I hate seeing her so sad and unwell. Praying for all the missing greys! Guest Energy11
Sorry to hear about this! Poor baby! ONE good thing is, the bloodwork was all normal. It might be a problem with one of her teeth. That could cause pain and bleeding. When I had Energy, I had to rush HIM to the Evets one night. He had massive bleeding in one area of his mouth. Holding pressure would not stop it, and it was a mess in the car. Turned out to be a bad tooth and an small artery in his mouth had "popped." They removed the tooth and sewed a flap to control the bleeding. He never had trouble again. Hope it is something along these lines for Lily ... something easy to fix. Sending love, hugs and many prayer to you both!

Lilysmom
The vet is stumped! She manipulted her neck, felt around her head, neck and body and nothing....no reaction or yelping from Lily. She is hoping that given her age and being under ansthesia yesterday exhausted her, she had a long day and so much testing done yesterday. We can't give her an antianflamatory right now, not knowing why her nose is bleeding (it's not for now). She did give her an injection of pain medicine and sent us home with some tramadol. I put up the crate, Lily wouldn't lay down at all, just standing and panting. I coaxed her in the crate and she is finally laying down. I don't know how in the heck she has stayed standing for an 1 1/2 with the medication in her system trying to make her relax and sleep. Still no answers, I'm exhausted, sick to my stomach and scared to death! I feel like I am failing my girl, I don't know what to do to help her feel better.......I love this crazy stripey girl so dam much and I can't help her! Is it time to let her go?????? Poor dh, he is beside himself and nothing I say can console him. I hope and pray that after some sleep Lily will feel better. And I pray we have the strength to stay strong for her and for each other. Praying for all the missing greys!
greyhead
Sending prayers for strength to all three of you. And for a good result. Given the nose bleed and everything else, has anyone looked at her head to see if a blood vessel burst or something?
