Guest SusanP
Zippy's going in to get the suspected mast cell tumor removed...if the xrays don't show that it's too late. I'm trying to stay positive, but I have a queasy feeling in my gizzard about this. I'll be with her til they take her back for the IV. I hate putting her through this and I hate cancer, and I hate not being able to control my emotions over this. Please send positive thoughts? Guest SusanP
She's in surgery now. The chest xray looked good, lymph nodes feel normal...They'll call when she's in recovery and said they will probably send her home as soon as she can stand, because she doesn't do well when kept at the vet's for long periods. I'm breathing a little easier now that she's actually in there. Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. Guest SusanP
She is awake and just stood up. The vet felt that the tumor was "encapsulated", which I assume means she thinks she got it all--They said Zippy is getting nervous and I can come get her in half an hour. :beatheart Thanks for all your good wishes! They helped steady my nerves. Edited October 16, 2008 by SusanP
