I too have had to make that unselfish decision and it is never easy, but is always made with them in mind not us. My beautiful fawn girl had osteo in her left shoulder & when she started having problems with her back end, I had my vet come to the house to let her go. I wish you peace & strength. I just got the call from the vet and her doctor is coming to my house as soon as she is out of surgery this morning. I am at work now but heading home to spend some quality time with Cherry before the doctor gets there. I am going to give her some lamb my wife cooked up for her last night and give her hugs and kisses. We will try and take one last walk (hobble) around her back yard and let her smell whatever she wants. My son and I will hold Cherry and tell her she is loved and it is okay. Thanks again for your support, I will post again when I feel able and try and upload some recent pictures. I can't believe how fast this is all happening, but what should I have expected when I called the vet with my request. I know this is the right thing for Cherry but the whole situation just stinks. Fortunately I've never had to go through this, although sadly many people here have. But you'll find lots of support here, sending lots of good thoughts for you and your girl.
