Guest KRKWMU Posted April 1, 2008 Share Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) Way to go, Bonnie! Let's Party! Bonnie is finished with her first 2 months of chemo for lymphoma! No more weekly injections at the vet's office!!! Yippee!!! She's been doing greyt and even gained another pound back this week! The past two months seems to have flown by, but then again it seems like we've been at this for forever! Thank you all for your chants, good wishes and prayers! They've been working! We need to discuss things with our vet, but I know that things get scaled back quite a bit after this week. The prednisone is given every other day at a lower dosage. The chemo medications change to Luekeran and methotrexate, but they're only given every other week (I think this is what he said). He's going to email Dr. Couto again to verify everything and see what he recommends. We'll see Dr. Couto in 2 weeks at the big fundraiser we are sponsoring for his program. It will be greyt to see him again. He's been so generous and helpful. I can't wait for him to see Bonnie! So, there are the stats- Diagnosed 2/6/08 Started chemo 2/11/08 Remission! 2/25/08 Done with 1st round 4/4/08Staying strong! Guest KRKWMU Posted April 1, 2008 Share Posted April 1, 2008 She's doing great today. No trouble with nausea or anything from the vincristine. Bonnie loves all of your attention. I keep giving her hugs and kisses from all of you! Our vet should be back in the office tomorrow. He'll give us a call to discuss the new plan that starts next week. I'll let you all know what he tells us. I'm thinking about scheduling an appointment for Friday maybe, so we can actually sit down with him. We haven't seen him face to face since the chemo started! He's done everything with Bonnie during the days on Mondays and we just pick her up. I will say though, he calls on a regular basis and gets back to us quickly if we have questions. Dr. Couto will check her out next weekend, I'm sure. I'm anxious to see what he has to say. I think I will bring all of her medications and supplements so he can evaluate what we're doing and change anything he thinks needs to be tweaked.
