I'm sorry you have to go down this path with your precious boy. Osteo is such a monster. At least you're giving him a chance to become pain-free and happy again. Please consider joining Circle of Grey if you haven't already. I will hold Willie in my prayers and send him loads of healing light for surgery and recovery.

Geez... I hope the news from OSU is different. In terms of choices, I've faced that same decision several times and it's always difficult and guilt-producing. You know your boy the best and will take into consideration all factors. You have my full support and understanding for whatever path you choose, as it is a decision made out of love. The idea about using a sling, especially for stairs is a very good one. Holding Abbey in my prayers for much more quality time with you.
