  1. Better. He's putting some weight on the foot. I tried to give him a break from wearing the muzzle but he started fussing with his bandage so I put it back on. When my vet walked into the exam room yesterday I had Thane's muzzle sitting on the exam table. Thane was standing behind the table where the vet couldn't see him. Vet started laughing - he saw the muzzle and thought he was going to have to deal with a vicious dog.
  2. Thanks Janet, I will definitely be ordering one of these today.
  3. OUCH, just seeing this. Hope he is feeling better now. Baytril is VERY expensive. These darn evets hand it out like candy. Can he be on a different antibiotic? The Baytril was given by injection at the E-vet. He's on Cephalexin for the next 2 weeks. I'll keep him on the Tramadol for the next few days so he stays calm/less active and doesn't re-open the wound. It was nasty.
  4. I will have to look in the brochure the next time I am at the vet and I will let her know that I know who those greys are! One of the pictures shows me applying the Oravet goo...........but in the picture I put a really thin smear of peanut butter on the applicator. That's why they look so happy.
  5. Farewell sweet Trillian........
  6. If it's Oravet my furkids get it with their dental. I used to continue it at home but they hated the waxy consistency. If your vet gives you the Oravet brochure with a picture of a bulldog on the cover, inside you'll see my Gracie and Oliver. If your vet offers you the dental vaccine, do not get it. It nearly killed my Gracie.
  7. Back from the vet again. My regular vet cleaned cleaned Thane's foot and he indeed was still bleeding. When the bandage was removed it was soaked with blood inside. Now he has liquid bandage on it. We go back for a bandage change Thursday. My little man is sound asleep now. Bigbrindlebunny, I have the large Pawz. But the bandages on Thane's foot are too big to get the Paws on him. Unbandaged it would fit him. I know none of mine, ranging from 77-92 lbs., would fit in a medium.
  8. So far he hasn't been able to lick because I've got his muzzle w/ stool cup on. Thane's gash is deep in between the toes underneath where they all join. Where is Spencer's foot cut?
  9. I called DH from work and he said Thanb's foot looked fine. However I just got home at noon and leashed walked him in the backyard. There was a lot of blood on the sock that I'd just covered his bandage with. The E-vet was not the usual one and I don't trust him. Even when he was done stitching there was blood seeping from the artery. I'm taking him to regular vet this afternoon as soon as he opens.
  10. Thane was not so happy about being leash-walked around the yard this morning. Of course the baggy I put over his bandage fell off. I wiped the dirt off the dressing once we were back inside and I noticed some blood. I hope it was just from him putting weight on the foot. DH will be home with him today and will keep an eye out for more blood.
  11. Back from the vet. Thane gashed the very center of his foot between the pads. Whatever he hit really shredded that soft tissue and cut his artery. He is now sporting 6 stitches, a pressure wrap bandage and his muzzle w/ cup to keep him from messing with it. He was given a Baytril and injection and Rimadyl injection and was sent home with Cephalexin. We can also give him the Tramadol we already had on hand. My poor little man is so exhausted. While I was at the vet DH cleaned up the blood with hydrogen peroxide. Miss Pudge le Mutt followed behind him licking the carpet. I think she likes the hydrogen peroxide making her tongue fizzy. I really need to add Thane to my siggie picture soon.
  12. Thane was just outside running zoomies. When he came in his foot was bleeding. Front foot, underside, just inward from where the black part of the pad ends. I can't see what would need a stitch but then my back is out so I can't get close. The bleeding has slowed down and we've put a muzzle on him to keep him from licking. I was going to let him rest a few minutes and then do an epsom salt soak. I have one of those Pawz booties and have placed guaze on the boo boo. Shoot. Too bloody . Off to the vet.
  13. Have you got room to add Thane to your sig. That's cuz I'm a slacker mom
  14. Hobbes' "change purse" has been robbed and now hangs empty. He does, however, have some olives. No problem there, but on GT, quite a source of entertainment. Read this thread
  15. That sure sounds a lot like my Gracie doing the reverse sneeze. Don't know why it happens. I just rub her throat to calm her down.
  16. I have no experience with it but googled "transitional cells urine dog" and there's several pages of stuff including this and this. Here's some more info: ultrasound findings
  17. Gracie has a few and occasionally I'll work on them. One lesson learned: Using the Biore strips won't do much to remove the blackhead but they will earn you a stink-eye from your grey.
  18. Did she actually squat and pee or did the urine just leak out? If it leaks out ask your vet about proin (pronounced pro-in).
  19. Goodbye Ember. Your daddy loved you so much. You will be missed by many.
