I would think they will have to put him under to remove it and I would want it sent out to deterimine for sure what it is. There are several possibilities. Try to not think positive and not stress out over it at this point. It could be something really simple.

My bridge girl Maggie had the most scars of any of mine or any that I ever fostered. She was quite a scrapper when she raced, and would plow her way through the pack.
