I use Easy Cheese. I put a little glob on my fingers, add the pills I'm giving, add more cheese, open mouth and insert towards the back of the mouth or roof of mouth. Renie has to take several pills twice a day and she enjoys licking the remainder of the cheese off of my fingers.

I do baked chicken or buy rotisserie chicken at the grocery store (de-bone and take off skin), boiled ground round drain off all liquid, very lean roast beef shredded. My Renie has been sick for a while and the Sulfasalazine got her diarrhea stopped but she still needs to gain weight back plus she still isn't much of an eager eater.

Because she has had so much diarrhea her GI tract may be inflamed. Instead of kibble you might try keeping her on home cooked without grains. You could also try canned EVO 95 which has no grains. Fiber can sometimes work just the opposite of what you want it to do. What got my Renie's diarrhea stopped was Sulfasalazine.

Baked or rotisserie chicken, Gerber's baby meat, lean roast beef, cottage cheese, boiled ground round (drain off all liquid), EVO canned, ID canned, canned green tripe, cheese, deli turkey- these are some of the things I alternate for Renie. The way I got her tummy feeling better so she would be eating (had to eat to take long term antibiotic) I gave her Reglan and Pepcid about 30-45 minutes before I was going to feed her, and at bedtime I gave her Carafate. I put the Carafate in a syringe and added enough water to make a slurry then squirted it in her mouth. She is finally off the antibiotics but is still not an eager eater and she still needs to gain back some lost weight, so we are still doing the "what will Renie eat this meal?" dance. I start with one thing and if that doesn't work I give her another, if that doesn't work then another etc. This isn't about a dog being spoiled, it's about a dog who has been very sick. She still gets the Pepcid along with milk thistle and Sam-e. When they are sick it's whatever works. I hope you are able to get Emmy to eat. Maybe you could ask the vet about Pepcid with the Reglan, and Carafate.

All I will add is we have had no UTI's since starting them on only filtered water.

Has his blood been checked for vitamin deficiency? My Renie has IBD and she has to take B12 shots. She had one a week for six weeks and we are now on every other week for 6 weeks then will go to 1 a month. Of course her blood is retested at the end of each 6 week period.
