  1. Acupuncture will help! Here are some of Alan's threads (so you can see progress time lines): http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=170195&hl= http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=171809&hl= http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=172868&hl= http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=175817&hl= other stroke threads: http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...9&hl=stroke http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...0&hl=stroke http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...8&hl=stroke
  2. He could have one of those murmurs that are here today, gone tomorrow, here today..... I assume this vet is used to listening to greyhound hearts? Sending prayers!
  3. Ohio State is the leading center for cancer in greyhounds. You can email or call: Medical Consult: greyosu@osu.edu Couto Guillermo Professor Veterinary Clinical Sciences (614) 292-3551 couto.1@osu.edu
  4. Sending many prayers. If she can eat it, the best would be liquified kibble, frozen BilJac or canned EVO, or a combination of both. Have you followed up with an oncologist? Consulted with Ohio State?
  5. do you know what "a bit" means? I'm willing to try it on Mizzy.
  6. Get him to the vet asap (I have a feeling you are on the way) Sending lots of prayers!
  7. After Winslow had his amp, he could not and still does not eat kibble. He's on canned EVO. Sending prayers!
  8. Depending on the dog, you can pop it out yourself with your fingernail. I did Rob Roy's (corns on 3 feet) by myself. Mahogany, however, needs to go to the vet and be sedated because she is a screamer and goes into a full blown panic attack. The rate it comes back differs. I wish my vet had a laser! Soften it with bag balm.
  9. babesia and erlichia are not rare at all in greyhounds. TBDs can lay dormant 5-7 years. Where did your girl come from?
  10. Sending lots of prayers! Acupuncture will help if you have someone that can come to the house.
  11. I've seen quite a few seniors come up with negative urine samples yet respond to antibiotics. The only one of mine who had a problem, was my kidney girl. Some of the others need to go out during the night. Quite a few don't. I've had 14 year olds hold it all night, and some 12 yr olds need to go out. Did you change foods?
  12. Why? It sounds like the previcox is messing up her stomach. You know me, I won't use NSAIDs anyway. If you must, add carafate ASAP. She doesn't want to eat because of her stomach Sending prayers. Have you found an alternative vet?
  13. Take a sample to the vet. Is it possible you have a bad bag of food?
  14. Is he getting enough pain meds? Possible he is hurting and resorting to past behaviors for comfort(?) What about a kong? Interested in it at all?
  15. Green beans would be good Some dogs on seizure meds are always hungry. Since I took pred for 6 years, I know how they feel (not the same med, but the same effect). It's horrible!
  16. I think people will donate. Is your group a 501c3?
