  1. Sending prayers. If you have an alternative vet, I'd go asap. If not, a regular vet.
  2. I'd try an alternative vet. Here is one certified in both chiropractic and acupuncture: NANCY KELLER , DVM HEALING HEART, INC. 208 N.E. 3RD STREET BOYNTON BEACH , FL 33435 Phone: 561-547-8277 Fax: 561-740-0819 Modalities Practiced: (Modality Quick Reference) AC AC(IVAS) AK CH CR CR(AVCA) CM H HC HMTX NAET NU WH CERTIFIED BODY TALK PRACTITIONER Practice Preferences: SMALL ANIMAL It would be helpfull to take the xrays with you. Sending prayers!
  3. I'd have them taken off. No sense in messing around! Sending prayers.
  4. Did you transition the food? Are you saying there is no a/c in your house? 86 outside would mean a lot higher inside and that is very warm. They can't handle extreme heat or extreme cold. Are you uncomfortable (i.e., sweating) in your house? Any fans on?
  5. Could be staph especially since she is down from the Lyme's. Is there another vet close for a second opinion?
  6. See if they use any acepromazine. If they do, tell them not to. I know Heart and Austin were drunk for 2 days when it was used and it was a very low dose.
  7. I've had a Dobe with them and also Shadow (who went to the bridge in 2003 at 14 1/2) I believe both were due to allergies. I remember Shadow eating once while he was having them! Didn't bother him in the least. Shadow was on Tavist1 year round.
  8. No idea! Sending prayers. Do you have a picture?
  9. Ask specifically if this could be an ACL injury. I would do a consult with an orthopedic guy. Some ACLs can rehab without surgery, but you have to be careful. Not taking care of the injury (if it is the ACL) can cause a tumor to grow at the site. Yes, it has happened to a grey.
  10. If he received a shot of rimadyl and had those reactions, please check his kidney funtion, liver function and platelets to make sure everything is ok! Sending prayers.
  11. I would not vaccinate any dog with lupus, regardless of breed. I would be very surprised if the vet would do it.
  12. Glad he is home! Spider? Snake? A nip from one of the others that got infected? Sending more healing prayers!

    Sending my sympathy
  14. Sending lots of prayers!!! How did he get stung like that?
  15. I would do a consult with the cardiologist which should not be more than $100. Let him read the xrays and give an opinion. Explain that at his age, you want to manage his problems and give him quality of life. Ask about CQ10 (which Tootsie is on) for the heart issues. Check blood pressure (this should be included in the consult). The regular vets you use--are they familar with greyhound hearts?
