  1. They clip the muscle or whatever as Susan indicated. In able to get proper xrays, you have to sedate the dog. I don't know what OFA is up to now number wise, but I had Dobe #565 I read a lot of xrays coming from Danes and I could (haven't done it in so long) see the xray and know what was what. If she is in pain now, I would get her out of pain, however no way I would use any pain management long term. She needs a fix if there is one available. She is just a puppy
  2. I would not put a young dog on a NSAID. Were the films sent off to OFA? Did you see the films? Was she sedated for the xrays? I have heard of some people doing the clip with success. This has been years ago. I will go see what I can find--if anything has changed. I'd definetely start her on a bovine chondroitin.
  3. Yes. I've had more problems with flagyl than clavamox but the combination could be wicked. I use carafate when they have a problem.
  4. Did he have this problem in the first homes? Which kibble is he on now? re zantac: 150mg x 2 or 300mg at bedtime. Carafate, 1 gram a few times a day.
  5. I asked Marilyn and she said assuming they are padded (look like ear muffs), yes she can lay on them. You have to be very careful she does not get them caught in or on anything.
  6. Run like the wind Gus!
  7. I wonder how many of these greys that are diagnosed with DI really have h pylori and are drinking because their stomach hurts? I know Ivey's drinking cut in half when I started her on zantac and carafate. I regret not having her scoped.
  8. An undiagnosed uti, stomach hurts. Of course he is not concentrating urine--he's drinking tons Did she switch dog foods?
  9. Well, I'm spoiled--any time my guys go up on the table, they get adjusted. Could be a combination of the table and running hard. Let him rest it and don't encourage running for several days and see how he does. From your description, he is walking it off? The dose you have him on (supplement) is very low. Is the chondroitin from bovine?
  10. A wonderful tribute. I'm sure there is a beach in Rainbow Land! Take a left at the large meadow and go a mile or so...... Sending my sympathy
  11. If I remember right, seeds can be bad. Did you call the vet?
  12. Did you get hoo hoo wash? Huston has been ok since his "bout". Every once in awhile I use the wash (much to his dismay--no he does not like it)
  13. Jodie will meet you with a cake sweet boy
  14. It's possible, especially if he can walk it off. Has the vet checked him out? I use Fresh Factors for my guys and it works! Worth a try. Right now in addition to buy 2 get 1 free, they are 20% off until 5/30.
  15. Good! Will the leaking stop on it's own?
  16. Calm Spirit is made by Health Concerns and can be ordered by a MD or DVM only. I like the Health Concern herbs because it is a combination and has herbs to counteract any reaction Health Concerns Probably using the Australian method which is severe and I refuse to have that method used on any of my animals. I think I saw the same thing you did......
  17. It is so much better when they come to the house. Yes, I and my guys, are spoiled..... I had vet do Mahogany a few weeks before she went to the bridge and she did not like it at all Vet said she was definetely a fire dog. I have seen acupuncture and chiropractic (AVCA certified only) do so much for my seniors. Tootsie is now getting adjusted weekly. Fortunately Mizzy is now every 3-4 weeks instead of every 2 weeks. It's great to watch the acupuncture buzz they get.....also, times when they really need it to watch them pull those needles in! It's a different mind set, Eastern medicine. I don't understand it all. I do know it works. It's not a quick fix most times. If I had a dog I had to take to the vet and they didn't like riding, I'd use Calm Spirit. Works well and doesn't drug them. It's what we use for thunderstorms.
  18. Sending lots of prayers!
