  1. I am so sorry this was the outcome you are making the right, but painful, decision.
  2. My newest girl, Sallie, eats dirt Or, actually, she seems to eat mud. I try to discourage it, but with a dog door, that's pretty futile. She doesn't seem eat much. and so far, it doesn't seem to have hurt her. I hope once things dry out around here, she will stop.
  3. I don't have anything specific to add to the great advice you've gotten, but I did want to say, you ARE doing the right thing! Switching to a vet who will, hopefully, listen to you, and keeping him on a diet that works for him. You may have to worm several times to get rid of the little buggers, and giardia can be hard to detect. Fletcher can't tolerate any veggies, and something about the processing of kibble makes most of that out for him as well. I've been feeding him raw for almost 6 yrs, and he is doing great. Don't worry about a balanced diet right now. A few weeks on chicken & rice won't hurt him. good luck with the new vet!
  4. I'd be worried too, but I am a worry wart I'd be inclined to take him in, if he isn't getting any better, but my local evet is pretty good, with some GH experience. I've never dealt with seizures, though. Have you contacted Judy (JillysFullhouse)? There isn't anything about seizures she doesn't know.
  5. I am sorry Rascal's results weren't better. The sub-q fluids and pepcid should make him feel better, hopefully more like eating! I do have to say, when Sugar went into kidney failure, the sub-q's, and every tummy pill made, did not make her feel better. She flatly refused to eat, and I finally gave in and let her go. I hope this isn't the case with Rascal!
