  1. No she's not at this time. She's on carpaquin. She's getting worse every day.... I'm on with the vet every day. She's only 12. We lost our Jenny just last March. I'm freaking out.
  2. my poor Reddy either had a stroke or has an infection in her spine, but is losing control of her right rear leg. She finds it hard to assume the position to pee so I got her a lift harness of which she is terrified. So I've been using several different incontinent diapers but heard that Depends work better. Does anyone know what size I should get for a 55 lb. female? Thanks in advance. BTW she's been to the vet 4 times, is on antibiotics and pain management and is scheduled for X-rays. My poor baby.
  3. I'm so very sorry to hear of Cody's passing. It's so hard to let them go. Hugz to you and Pinky at this sad time.
  4. I switched to Heartguard, which is what our group has been using for years.. and vet recommends
  5. OK.. it's been 2 years and these tags have again risen to the top of "things to buy". One of my neighbors, who owns a specialty dog shop, put them on her coon hound and asked if I wanted them for my girls. I said, let's wait and see how they work on Trixie before I spend the money, and I just put Frontline on my girls anyway. She said she just put Frontline on her dog as well, so it will be difficult to check and see if they work at all. Her charge would be $58 for the two dogs that "supposedly" work for 4 months. In checking, I see about 50% good opinions and 50% "they are terrible". I'm extremely skeptical.
  6. I use Tropiclean Fresh Breath Mint Foam and the Gel product. They work very well.. I've gotten them at Petco but they can also be purchased on-line. Also, baking soda made into a paste on a face cloth and rub gently over teeth and gums.
  7. I'm so sorry. We never forget the one's who pass.
  8. Reddy just came thru her surgery on isoflurane with no worries. As long as they use plenty of oxygen when they are coming out, there should be no problem.
  9. I'm so very sorry for your loss. You had a good life together and the memories will live on.
  10. The prosthesis is a round silicone ball that they insert in the socket and somehow stitch it in. It prevents the "dishing" of the site and makes it look more natural, like the eye is just closed. If you need further info, e-mail me and I'll scan you what our opthamologist gave us. Sorry about you baby as well.
  11. Reddy was diagnosed with glaucoma in her right eye several months ago. It's the type that manifests itself after an infection that damages and closes the ducts. She has been treated from the initial infection up to yesterday, when at her latest checkup, the pressure is no longer being controlled by the Xylantan. Now she faces losing her eye in the next few weeks. Since she is totally blind in that eye now, and has compensated well, I know she'll be fine but I so worry about the surgery itself. The opthamologist is going to remove the ocular contents and leave the eye there. They put a silicone prosthesis behind the eye and it looks as though the eye is still working. We opted for this procedure rather than removing the eye and stitching the lids closed. My little sweetheart needs white light for the next few weeks.
  12. We looked high and low for you Elwood.. but you never came to us to be saved. We were all heartbroken when you were found. We are just so sorry you had to die alone in the cold. Fly free darling boy, forever remembered.
  13. The time goes so fast... my heart hurts for all the losses. Hugz to you.
