  1. Lorinda, I am just seeing this, what a scary night! I am glad you are at the specialist now hope they can make Lazer more comfortable, he has been through so much
  2. Tori The only thing I have used that is not on your list is my acupuncturist also does Chinese herbs, and gave Fletcher something called "body sore" that he took along with his Tramadol, Metacam (later Rimadyl after the Metacan seemed to be loosing effectiveness) and acupuncture.
  3. Not exactly I would give her an alternate protein 2-3 times a week, but one could be beef/bison/venison, one turkey/duck, one fish or rabbit, so you would only give each alternate type once a week. That way, even if you settled on say, rabbit and bison, it wouldn't be too expensive. Commercially raised pork safe, but if you know any hunters who get wild or feral boar, I wouldn't feed that raw!
  4. Hope the new meds help and she starts feeling better. My old girl with spinal issues similar to hers (but not LS) got a huge relief from acupuncture. Not sure if you have access to that, or have tried it?
  5. Glad Truman is doing better! That must have been very scary to watch
  6. I am a little late on this, just wanted to say if Ruby doesn't do well with beef, you can use chicken as her main protein, just change it up with something different 2-3 times a week. Pork, turkey, lamb, bison, venison, rabbit, fish, whatever she likes and does well with. That is all more expensive than chicken, but if you only give it once a week, not too bad.
  7. I am so sorry you lost your perfect girl.
  8. it is hard to watch them get old. unfortunately, there is no cure for that
  9. Poor boy! But, it sounds like is is doing better, do you think it is the meds?
  10. She is so beautiful I am so glad to hear how well she is doing!
  11. I used a canine pro-biotic for Fletcher (can't remember the name) and it didn't make any difference, but he had a lot of issues (but rarely gas ) I have used FortiFlora for cats in the past and it worked very well.
  12. Yep, new location & new bowls, of a different material. Princess Molly would get weird about her food bowls, and that always worked for us. Even a different room, if you can.
  13. I don't think the change was too fast. In my opinion (which is worth what you paid for it ) if you are switching food because the old food was not working, you want to stop feeding it as soon as you can. It may take her a few days completely off the old food to see an improvement, but if she is still gassy after a few days on all the new food, it may not be the answer for her
  14. So glad to see her home! I hope she has a quick and uneventful recovery
  15. I am so very sorry you have lost your sweet boy
  16. Glad it is over and he is recovering well! Also, glad they didn't find a foreign body or anything else bad
