Many for the chemo to work!

Mo, I went through chemo with Rascal for Lymphoma. It has been several years ago now so I don't remember the drug names anymore. His treatments were fairly short...inserted an IV into his leg and put the drugs in. He was also on oral meds in the initial treatment. He would be extra tired the next day but always rebounded pretty quickly. My vet recommended pred which had the great side effect of getting them to eat. We didn't do that due to Rascal having no bowel or bladder control but he ate fairly well through it. I never had to leave him for treatment and I believe we went once a week for 6 weeks. I have some Fresh Factors if you would like to try them I would be happy to send you a bottle to see if it helps.

Kari...My dogs have all seemed extra hungry lately. I was thinking it was related to the cold weather. At his age I would encourage him to eat unless he starts looking really chubby. And aren't we all worry warts??

Jan... How long has it been going on for? In the past week I have had similar issues with 3 out of 4 dogs. Mollie and Dylan mostly but Cody a couple times. I think they are all past it but Mollie did it last night. I had tried Chicken and rice with the same results. I fasted them and tried again. I assumed it was some sort of a bug as it only lasted 36-48 hours. for Bailey

I would focus on personality in your selection. The two females will probably have more energy and since they didn't race will not necessarily be as refined as the older dog. I am a huge fan of the males that had a career...they seem to transition into being a pet very easily. So it depends on what you are looking for in a pet. The health issues can go either way...just like people. Some people can do all the wrong things and live to 90 and some do it all right and don't make it past 60.
