He has several wonky toes, likely broken in his previous life, never attended to. He's used to them now, however, they've healed in their wonkyness & nothing to be done but comfort.

Irregular schedule isn't helping, to be sure, but I agree I'd still rule out medical issues. Regarding carpet cleaner......I have the Bissell & it's paid for itself several times over, bless its heart.

My angel hound Desi was totally heat intolerant, so the colder, the better. To make myself feel better, I'd make him wear a coat if it was below 20 deg. He'd be panting before we got to the end of the block. As a side note, his feet were very sensitive, & he wore boots (gladly) if there was even as much as a skiff of snow.

I took foster "T" to the pet store yesterday for some human interaction & mental stimulation. Worked well, he had a great time. Problem = human couldn't resist & wound up spending $50 on treats/toys. sigh

Yes, I've seen this, and it brought me to tears again. I have so struggled with losing Desi, thought a million times I'd never be able to "settle" for less than his perfectness. Never say never. I'm going to pick up a 10 yo field trial hound on Monday. The thought of 10 years worth of "field" habits to try to break is daunting & scary, but the thought of him living on a chain (or worse) at 11 & 12 is giving me courage.

Happy Trails, Percy. I guarantee you will find no better love on this journey than you found in your last years here on this earth. My condolences to your family you loved you so well.
