Passion's clean, white face

Does your hound have food stains on the side of their mouth? How do you get it off? I've scrubbed at it with a wash cloth but it's still there. Diamond has it on his mouth but Passion doesn't and she's whiter

Nobody wants to love them more than me when they are learning such things as floors and are afraid but I would try to be sure that I am not unwittingly reinforcing his fear with the sweet talk and cool washcloths and sympathy. Try to make sure he sees you as his leader-that will protect him from other people/dogs and anything that might hurt him. Then take him through the "scary" stuff nonchalantly-clearly communicating to him that there is nothing for him to be concerned about-ignore wining and fear displays and expect him to follow your lead. I think you will be surprised how much he improves once he learns and really knows that as long as he is with you he need not fear anything. a lot of dogs really respond to this. Some don't. But regardless it can't be good to reinforce his fear by giving him sympathy. Just a thought as it has really helped with some of the dogs I've handled. I agree with this. I think you are reinforcing his fear. I noticed that at Greyfest when he wouldn't walk on the floors there.Good luck

She hasn't run around the yard since this all started in May. When it isn't hot, I take her to the lake to walk and that's 3 miles. She's not as active as she was a year ago but she's almost 10.

She doesn't like people food. I've tried stuff before.

My foster is on zonisamide and gets 3 pills twice a day at 6:30 am and 6:30pm. I had to work tonight so brought him (and Passion) to work along with their pills. At 6:30, got ready to pill him and realized I forgot one of the pills. I work until midnight, should I give him the pill when I get home or just skip it entirely? I can't believe that I did this.

She refused green beans last night. My vet said it's ok if she gets chunky (I'm not ok with that) so I'm feeding her more often but not more kibble.

I bring Passion for acupuncture. I am in the room with her when they put the needles in and the entire time until they take the needles out. I've never heard of a vet not allowing a owner to be in the room like you have had happend.

Also, pick up a couple of carabiners (they are a buck at Walmart) and attach their collar and leash for another safety measure. I think people who crate don't leave collars on. The d-ring can get stuck on the wire of the crate. Also, make sure you attach their tags to the side of their collar and not the d-ring.

Mine are muzzled when I am not home. They can drink water and eat just fine with them on. They can also play with stuffies with them on. I don't have a dog door and never will. Mine wear leather ID collars on 24/7. I personally think if you use a dog door, they need ID tags on them in case they get loose.

Yes seizures. My greyhound vet did the script but I've also consulted with a neuro vet and she goes to a holistic vet.I feed her right before bed so she shouldn't be hungry.

Kim- I am going to wait to see if the pepcid helps. And I don't want to change it if she might start having seizures again. She can have both the phenobarb and zonisamide but we did not talk about me changing anything yet.

I talked to my vet about changing her to zonisamide and he said I can. He suggested adding pepsid so I'm trying that for a few weeks before deciding about the zonisamide. I hate to change it since she hasn't had a seizure since June 26th which is when she started the phenobarb.
