  1. It will probably go through her just fine. She might hack up parts of the bird in the next day (and probably re-eat them). I believe birds carry fleas? So if it was a very recently dead bird, you might be on the lookout for tapeworms after a while. But I agree with the above posts; it will probably be just fine. Milo, eater of squirrels (tail and all!), asks "Want fries with that, Sallie?"
  2. Sending cyberhugs and all sorts of best wishes. Sounds promising, if still mysterious.
  3. There's no proper way to introduce yourself here -- this forum is just an excuse for more pictures. Welcome to you and Marley.
  4. Congreytulations to all! Penny looks like she is passing on sage words of advice, something like "Daddy is the sucker, be sure to give him the sad eyes when you want something ... "
  5. Welcome to your gorgeous pups!
  6. What a beautiful girl. It may seem like a lot of extra work now, but soon it will be 2nd nature and you'll wonder how you ever had fun without a dog. What do the cats think of Ms. Starbuck?

I'm so sorry for the loss of your smiling, happy boy.
  8. Sending you sympathy in your grief. And hoping that one day the many, many happy memories you have of Ava will begin to outweigh the pain of her loss.
  9. Good night, Sweet William. Hugs to you, Diane.
  10. Holding Willie and his family in the Light. I hate you are having to go through this.
  11. I kept some friends' non-grey dog for about 3 weeks while they were moving to a new house that needed renovations. He and my dogs already knew each other and got along. He was a wonderful guest and had a good time being around other dogs all the time. When his humans came to get him, he did the happy dance for about five minutes straight.
  12. How's Chase doing today? Sending gentle hugs to him and to your billfold.
  13. Sending along all our best wishes, too. You and Mac have already gone through so much.
  14. Oooh -- a handsome fawn with eyeliner! And color-coordinated with Karma, to boot.
  15. Looks like a trio made in heaven. Congreytulations to all!
  16. Milo the greyhound mix is doing greyt in his new home, but there's two issues I'd like help with. 1) He enjoys the backyard and just walking around the block, but on longer walks in wooded areas this weekend has appeared very nervous. His body language looks tense, his gaze is locked straight ahead, and as the walk gets longer, he starts whining and sticking right by my legs. When the car comes into sight, he pulls on the leash, obviously wanting to reach the safety of its interior. Romie and Nutmeg are showing no signs of nervousness. What can I do to make wooded walks more enjoyable for Milo? Right now I'm trying to ignore his nervous behavior, except to stop when he pulls on the leash. 2) Milo has a tendency to jump on people. He's showing good response to his rescue organization's approach of turning away and ignoring him when you're standing up, but that's hard to do when you're stretched out in a recliner. He doesn't respond at all to "no" or "down" in this situation, and it's painful having to struggle with him on top of you so that you can push him off the chair. I'm ready to pull out the squirt bottle , but thought I'd like to hear from you positive reinforcement aficionados (and others).
  17. No advice, just sending best wishes for your boy.
  18. It's wonderful to see her happily home. You done good, girl!
