  1. I just saw another post "Bee Propolis Worked, No More Corn" by foxysmom and it was posted yesterday. Good luck!
  2. I am so sorry to read this post about Willie. Thoughts and prayers are wrapped around all of you.
  3. Canyon looks GREAT in that picture. Give him a kiss on his nose for me. Continued prayers and good thoughts from us to all of you.
  4. Prayers and candles for all of the babies that need a light to find their way. Prayers for the mommy and daddy's to find the strength to go on....................
  5. I am in the same situation. Brandi will be eating and a poop falls out. She is standing in the living room and a poop falls out. She is 8. Had her to the holistic vet and had x-rays. They don't know why. Hopefully someone will post something that can help us both.
  6. I am sorry to hear all that is going on in your life and your baby. Thoughts and prayers going out to all of you. I am sure she will be fine with the meds and some rest. My girl has had the weak back, stumbling but after the pred and antibiotic's kicked in she is doing fine so I am confident yours will also. Maybe acupuncture and chiro. It sure helps my girl!
  7. Where are you buying the Hilton Herb's Milk Thistle Plus and how much? Thanks. We used to get it from a local source, but they don't carry it anymore. Now you can get it from The Healing Barn http://www.thehealingbarn.com $21.00 for 4.4 oz, and $39.00 for an 8.8 oz bag. 8.8 oz. will last my two dogs about 4 months. Thank you. I just checked out that site.
  8. No you are not the first person to do. I admit we have done it and no problem. According to the protocol per Dr. Jean Dodds "it should be given away from food - specifically at least one hour before or three hours after each meal. This is because thyroxine binds to calcium and soy in foods".
  9. My Brandi is on 20 mg every other day also and thinks she is starving too. Do you give it to Flippy in the food or empty stomach? I drop it in Brandi's food.
  10. Where are you buying the Hilton Herb's Milk Thistle Plus and how much? Thanks.
  11. On of my greys had renal failure and lived five more years after being diagnosed. I really believe she lived a longer life because of my holistic vet that did acupuncture and www.naturalrearing.com. as well as a low protein diet. Marina who is Natural Rearing will do a telephone consultation and has chinese herbs which I gave to my grey those five years. I found that Marina charged less for Standard Process than my holistic vet. Wish you the best!
  12. I am so sorry that Frankie is gone. As another post says they are never with us long enough.
  13. Way to go Beau, make mommy feel better. Yes three meals do pay off. Did it with my girl and it worked. My girl is still on 20 mg pred every other day - five years later she is still walking. Hugs and kisses to Beau.
  14. Thank you for this information. I will be taking it to my vet!
  15. I don't have a lot of advice but I can tell you that my very first grey was diagnosed with allergies blah blah (this was 1996). Took her to see a specialist for mange and the specialist diagnosed the LP and told me they could do surgery to correct this and I should have the surgery done right away. She gave me the name of a specialist that would come into my city and do the surgery. I knew then I would do the surgery but it was too late. My advice please do not put off the surgery if that is what they are suggesting. When I say it was too late, Sara died driving back home. She couldn't breath and there wasn't anything I could do. When I got her to the nearest ER, the vet said it was very similar to a heat stroke.
  16. Sending good thoughts and hugs for him. Just to give you more encouragement, my vet wanted to put my grey down when she was paralyzed and actually sent her home to die at home. Five years later she is living, walking, running. She has issues at times but she has a quality of life.
  17. Canyon looks great! Continued thoughts and prayers from us.
  18. She is beautiful and I love black dogs (remember I have three). Sorry I am late in sending congrats. So happy for all of you. Keeping sending the pics!
  19. You can add me: Reno, Nevada Brandimom
  20. I truly believe in the power of a holistic vet for acupuncture and chiro. My grey has had a weak back/weak legs for years. I swear that my holistic vet is the one that keeps her going. We go once a month now for maintenance. He can also recommend certain chinese herbs. Good luck!
  21. I am so sorry for your loss and sadness. Our first greys are so special.
  22. My Brandi has had problems with her back, weak legs since she was three (became paralyzed for 10 days but with meds and pred she began walking again) and she is now eight. My western vet wanted to do a myleogram (sp?) and I did not want to do that. She has been on pred since she was three. The pred/chiro and acupuncture have given her a good quality of life. We see the holistic vet once a month. I would certainly look to a holistic vet. They were never able to diagnose what her problem is. My concern of course is what has the pred done to her. I have a chem panel done every 6 months and everything appears in the normal range (just to make sure the pred is not doing damage). The western vet says it is neurological, the holistic vet says compromised immune system with a fungus/bacteria in the spine. I understand how scary this can be. If you have access to a neurological vet I would also consult. X-rays have revealed nothing. Five years later she can see go for walks, run in the yard but can not stand for very long without her starting to lower her back legs. When I see this happen I just make her move. She has lost so much hair and it will not grow back due to the pred 20 mg. every other day now. Prayers and thoughts go out to you and Sizzle. So glad she looked fine at lunch.
  23. I have no advice but prayers and good thoughts for you and Rudy.
