  1. Unfortunately I do not have any advice or suggestions but my thoughts and prayers are with you, Chester and the family. Whisper in his ear that he has got to come home and be well! Please keep us posted. Welcome to Greytalk!
  2. Thanks for the update. I also was wondering about Robin and Beau and want to hear more stories about Polli............
  3. The Costco Kirkland certainly was a surprise.
  4. I am sorry to be so ignorant but what is that? Where in Canada would I go to purchase? First, you're NOT ignorant, I didn't know what it was either until my vet talked to me about it. It's a DermaPet product, comes in a plastic bottle and you just squirt it in their food depending on their weight. Smells like fish(so it stinks) The vet who formulated it gets his fish oil strictly from Norway. Here, it's only available at a vet's office(no script) I but it online at Countrysidepets.com as it's much much cheaper. A lot of people here use fish oil caps, salmon oil, and other things, I just choose to use the EicosaDerm because of the success I've had with it. Thanks so much for the "link" as I just ordered a 32 oz bottle from them. My two black afs do well on Grizzly Salmon Oil but Brandy the greyhound always has dry skin, dandruff even though she is fed high quality food. She has an immune system problem blah blah so hope this helps her. Thanks.
  5. All three of my dogs eat poop and my one greyhound also likes dirt. When it is light outside I go out with them to monitor but they still find the poop or dirt. a lot of people told me to try S.E.P. by Solid Gold to stop the poop eating but it did not work for mine.
  6. As far as I know it is OK for greys. I had my 10 year old grey on it for two years. Tests during those two years did not change his chem panel. To be on the safe side I would send an email to Dr. Jean Dodds at hemopet@hotmail.com and ask her for advice. Please keep us posted as to what she had to say.
  7. My last greyhound had renal failure and I truly believe monthly visits to the holistic vet for acupuncture prolonged her life. I also got in touch with Marina at www.naturalrearing.com and she sent me chinese herbs which I believed help. Tawny lived probably four more years after being diagnosed with kidney failure. I wish you and your baby good luck!
  8. I don't have any experience in this but I have heard the anxiety wrap works well. Thanks for that reminder. The president of our group who has had greys 20+ years also gives one of her greys melatonin 3 mg. and it calms her down too.
  9. Thanks for the link. I am definitely going this route next time for my grey and afghan's.
  10. Oh my gosh that looks so awful. Does look like he was beat up.
  11. I hear ya, been there twice. Both times had to do amputation.
  12. I don't have a link just her email reply. If you want send me an email to adoptgreyhounds@sbcglobal.net and I will forward that email to you with the protocol.
  13. A friend of mine who has a grey gives him Melatonin 3 mg./2 pills when he seems anxious especially when it is windy or there are thunder storms. She swears by it and has been involved in greyhound rescue for 20+ years. I have also heard that anxiety wraps work in calming a dog.
  14. We are also praying it continues. Wonderful news
  15. So glad Stanley is doing much better. Sure made mommy feel good.
  16. Good news! Thanks for updating us, your family.
  17. Sorry I am late in posting. So glad she is home. Now stop worrying mom!
  18. We are glad you joined our family but also very sorry that you have lost Samantha! It is hard enough to lose one grey but to have them back to back just doubles the pain! Our family sends thoughts and prayers to all of you.
  19. What a beautiful girl! Yes our first greys are very special. I am so sorry for this void in your life.
  20. I am so sorry about Angel. Don't worry about her trying to find her pack at Rainbow Bridge. I honestly believe the pack knew she was coming and they were there to welcome her. Run free Angel

    Abita Romeo

I could not help but cry when I read your story of Romero. I am so so so sorry. Yes we do question ourselves....did we do the right thing, etc. My heart goes out to you and the human family as well as your 4 legged ones. Prayers and thoughts as you go through this difficult time. I know the void is unbearable
  22. Of course our prayers are with Rocky and Pam. That is one of my fears also. I have three dogs and do not walk them unless my husband is with me.
  23. Thoughts and prayers from all of us. Hugs and sloppy kisses.
  24. Great news that Beau is home which has got to make a world of difference to him. I am sorry that I do not have any advice or suggestions but we certainly send both of you love, hugs and kisses
