    Run free Shep.
  2. Handsome Debbil seems to fit well. Run Free Graham.
  3. Congratulations. Wait til Teddi clues him on on the things he can get away with. Did you end up in Illinois? If so, let us know anytime you need a pit stop coming through the Champaign area.
  4. Handsome Dude!!!! Welcome.
  5. He has probably never been alone before. Even if fostered, there were probably other hounds. It is a gradual process as others have said. His whole life just became new again, and with training and time, you will have a great friend there.
  6. Muzzles on both during play. All play supervised.
  7. Sending fuzzy lots of good thoughts. Hope he is feeling better soon. We just had to do a 3 week course of metronidazole for Rocket, and he ate lots of scrambled eggs and overcooked rice along with a little canned. it took a couple weeks before he could tolerate kibble again. This seems to happen with him a couple times a year, so I know how frustrating what you are going through is. As far as the WD - we actually have better luck with Evanger's canned organic chicken. Nothing in it but organic chicken and water. it;s as bland as bland gets.
  8. Glad I'm not the only one who types one word in place of the other. I do it all the time, so I really have to read everything I post. It's getting worse as I get older.
  9. You meant an urban environment, right?
  10. Search for "tracking collars" (without the quotes) using the search function here on GT. (GPS is too short for the search engine) There are several threads from late last year and earlier this year that will give you some good info about some of the collars on the market. Some people here are using them, but those threads had some good info to check out while you wait for more replies.

    Corbyn

    Run free Corbyn and Aleister.
  12. Most likely needs a vet visit. Could be a tumor as others have said, or something like an insect / spider bite. Either way I would have it checked ASAP, especially since it appeared overnight.
  13. Do a search here on Hog Fuel. You may need to put it in quotes for the search function to find it. Some GT'ers have reported success with this type of mulch because it is finer and softer. It also has less splinters than other mulches. We have a 12x26 fenced area that is used only for a potty area - no play or running. in the winter, the grass gets muddy due to freezing and thawing of snow. Last year i covered the area in horse stall bedding (wood shavings). it worked well, and the mud was eliminated. The shavings are soft and can be raked if necessary. They are also cheaper than mulch. A couple of compressed bales go a long way. This is 4-6 inches of shavings covering the mud in our turnout yard last spring. The area in the foreground is actually dormant grass and not mud. Over time, I ended up covering the whole yard and will do so again at the start of next Winter. This took about 5 bales.
  14. I would borrow one if you can to have on hand for a while. The hound is used to a crate and hasn't had any time to adjust or learn a different routine. If you can't borrow one, check Craigslist - usually about half the normal retail price.
  15. Lots of good thoughts coming Lazer's way! Sometimes things just work out and tell you you're making the right decisions.
  16. Sorry to hear the Molly is in a cast. She will need extra cookies to help it heal!
  17. I have a feeling he is going to be the subject of some great posts here!
  18. I am so sorry for the loss of your special boy. Run pain-free Slim.
  19. Thank you all for your thoughts and kind words. Heather has the link to this thread and your condolences are making a very difficult time much easier. Our GT family is awesome! ,
