  1. That is such an Annie type of prank.....
  2. They don't get it too often so they just really like it when it happens. Mark tried to clean LaVida's bowl because she was taking too long.
  3. Update: Birthday Ice Cream was served before bed last night. It was a big hit!
  4. She looks awesome. LaVida will be posting similar pics next month as she also has to lose quite a few teeth. I'm so glad that Punkin is feeling better.
  5. She needed a background for her Zoom call.
  6. Dr. Rocket left a standing prescription for vanilla ice cream before he left us. I know he would want Punkin to start a course of meds just as soon as she's up to it. Feel better soon, sweet Punkin.
  7. Awesome pics. My first reaction was trying to figure out how LaVida got into your pictures.
  8. The perfect tribute for a perfect boy. Run-free, Lucas.
  9. Your hound may be used to being fed in the crate and may have had a water bucket attached to a crate as well. I'm not sure how they do feeding and watering in Ireland kennels, but much of your dog's life has likely been centered around a crate until now. Make sure she has a crate as her safe space with the door open when you are home so she can come and go. She will learn the routine of the house soon, but for right now is completely unsure what is expected of her and needs time to learn the new surroundings and new routine. Good luck!
  10. Mooney, you are one handsome dude!
  11. We had a $4000.00 weekend recently between the regular vet and the emergency vet when both dogs had emergencies. It's all part of pet ownership and one that can happen with any pet, not just greyhounds. The credit card took a big hit that weekend, but will get paid off eventually.
  12. Not yet...later today or tomorrow. It's already too hot in the sun and we have no real shade in the back yard. It may have to be a sundown project.
  13. How about if you take them the first time so I can learn how it's done? Amazon just delivered the new "shower" so I have the battery on the charger now. One of these two is pretty smelly from digging, so they are both going to get a bath this weekend. Hopefully, it will shortly be too hot out in the yard for them to bother digging.
  14. LaVida and Mark have been working on a long term "konstrukshen projekt" in the back yard for a while now. They have a nice shady spot under a large bush with a cool place to lay in the dirt. I am going to add some sand to see if we can keep the dust down and reduce the chance of Valley Fever happening from the dust. With that background, it is also bath time before it reaches a thousand and elebbenty degrees here in the desert. Their work is starting to show on them. The outdoor hose does not work well for baths because the water is too cold in the cold seasons and too hot once the temperature goes up. Our hoses and house water lines dispense overly warm water all summer because the water mains and lines are right below the surface. Water left in a garden hose can cause burns in the summer if it hits your skin. I just ordered a battery operated camping shower so I can fill a couple of buckets with water of a more constant temperature to do their baths. Curious if anoyone else has used one of these and how well it worked? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IFHFJXI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There is no good inside tub for the baths due to having glass shower doors, so we need to improvise. We've used the garden hose in the past and it is just never ideal. So, is anyone else using something similar other variation of a camp shower for the dogs?
  15. She's highly efficient. Doolin is an excellent supervisor.
  16. This has been going on for a while in some shelters there, but now it looks like the influenza may have been detected among a dog in the public setting, Just an FYI for anyone who may need to know. https://www.kare11.com/article/news/local/kare11-sunrise/canine-influenza-outbreak-minnesota-merck-vaccine/89-c792e105-9b6f-4f8a-8814-f76f611096a8
  17. You're right about that. I always make the rice or the pasta with chicken broth and usually have visitors in the kitchen while it;s cooking.
  18. I love these two. I think we are going to need a roadtrip to Nashville at some point to meet them.
  19. Beautiful boy! It's very cool that you got to meetup after all of these years.
