My heart is breaking for you. She is continuing her journey as we all must do. But she will be with you always. Love is energy-it can never be destroyed or dissipate into oblivion. Your spirits will always have each other. She may not be in her greyhound body but she'll be with you. Emily, send your mom a sign....let her know that you are OK and will be with her always.

Slim had a tibial crest fracture that the first sorry excuse for a e-vet misdiagnosed as acl tear and sent him home with the broken leg. I learned at that time that it is very unusual for a greyt to sustain acl tear injuries like the other dogs do because of the large muscles greys have in their legs. I think it must be true as I havn't heard of any greyts blow their knee like the other dogs do. Also, I just read in Whole Dog Journal how there was a problem with the metal in the plates that was inserted or something and many dogs have developed cancer at the site as a result. I knew that it soemtimes happenned but when they pulled the data together it had an alarming frequency of occurence. There is actually a conservative non surgical approach that can be successful but it requires great dedication to do.

Just wanted to comment on your comment about his lameness. Slim would have intermittent non-weight bearing lameness in his right front. There was absolutely nothing the wrong with his leg or shoulder it originated in his neck. Have noticed that spine issues have a tendency to manifest as lameness. Accupuncture seems to work pretty good I have found-also have had no issues with Tramadol.

I plan to get that book to read. Thanks for sharing it. Much of what I said and learned by experience is explained really well in a book called "Animals in Spirit" by Penelope Smith. It is a most enlightening and comforting book.

Prayers for Harley! Also Rescue Remedy is safe to use with the meds. I have never had any issues and it is supposed to be OK anyway because it is the energy in it that helps. The actual "stuff or active ingredients" in it are VERY VERY dilute.

This is just my opinion but it is what I have experienced and found to be true as have some others. Yes, it was Pearl. She was visiting you so you all could cuddle again. Jades color has nothing to do with it. Jade could be any color and you still would ahve recognized Pearls presence. Some people have found and believe that the dog that crossed over can return and visit again through another dogs body. The dog we loved that crossed over was spirit and the only thing that died was the body. The real dog we loved is OK -they're just not here in on earth with us in a body suit. They can only eturn like that if the earth dog gives permission for their body to be used that way. It should deepen the bond you are establishing with Jade that she allows this in order to please you by letting Pearl visit. You will probably notice Jade doing other unique Pearl things. It is not Jade. It is her allowing Pearl to visit you through her. It is a great blessing that you can still enjoy Pearls presence even if she's nto in her old Pearl body. I know this is "far out"-perhaps to far out for you to accept- but try to have an open mind. The heart knows things the mind can't understand. What happenned is something that should bring you great joy as should the other "Pearl things" you might see Jade doing. She is allowing it because she loves you too! JMO

DITTO what ENERGY said. The beast needs to be reported before he hurts or kills another innocent being. My blood more than boils over these incidents-I think it vaporizes completely because I become insanely protective of my hounds and have no compunctions about it or what I might do to the offenders. I have been trained to "neutralize threats" and have learned to arm myself before going for a walkie.

I truly believe this. I also have had dreams about my pups who have just passed. Its almost as if this was their way of saying Okay my spirit is in your heart but the rest of me is going to heaven. And yes I believe they go to heaven, they're God's creatures. It seems like every time I have had one pass, at least 2 weeks later I have a dream with them in it. Its always a happy dream until I wake up. I believe that little things are from them, rainbows, flowers & butterflies. Especially the butterfly. FYI in Revelation 5:11-13 it says the animals are in heaven "around the throne" praising the Lord. I also like Ecclesiastes 3:19 that says "For what happens to the sons of men also happens to beasts; .....Surely they all have one breath; man has no advantage over beasts,......." Theres a lot of other references to but these are my favorites. That settles it for me that they are clearly in heaven. And the older I get the more I see how God loves his animals.

Shortly after I got Goldie I took him to the park. It was probably in the 70's with a slight breeze-not hot all. He overheated- I couldn't tell how bad -I could just see he was uncomfrotable and panting a lot so I immediately took him home. As soon as I got him home I took his temp just to make sure he was alright and it was 107.4!!!!!!!!!!! I figured there was no time for transport to vet-cellular damage occurs at 108- and I put him in tub immediately and put tons of cold water on him and monitored his temp as it went down and he recovered quickly and without incident-thank you Jesus!. From that point on though I ALWAYS made sure he was kept COOL. To think they could die so easily. wow. Even now in the hot summer I always leave the hounds with 2 ac's going -1 in use and 1 on as a back-up in case the first one one fails. I never once let him get even warm after that-always using cooler sheets etc. if I'd take him out and even hosing him down before walks. I wasn't going to take ANY chances after that. I don't know if it was just something with him or whether it was just a fluke but I wasn't going to take any chances. There was absolutely no reason he should have overheated like that. It wasn't even hot out. Now anytime my houndies look a little warm I take their temp and none of them have been past 103 when I checked.

I am a chemist. Based on chemistry I feel the same way. In fact I extend the same suspicion and scrutiny to "drugs" as well. I'm like Energy-Adams does the job for me.

I'm dying to have my Pearl visit me since she left last month too. Nothing. Don't worry about Pearl. It took my Ivy 4-5 MONTHS before she contacted me and let me know she was fine. Don't give up. They have their reasons for doing wahtever they do and it always comes down to their love for us. And the important thing with Wilbur is that you now know that he is watching over you-just like before-whether you can see him with your earth eyes or not.

Have used Interceptor for many years-never had any reaction from any dog. One thing I do though is I never give their heartworm meds at the same time as an insecticide or anything. I know you can but I don't. If I have to assault their bodies with chemicals of various types I just prefer to do it a little at a time and try to never "mix" anything.

Oh yes that was him and more than likely he'll be back! Maybe the next time he will cuddle with you. My soul mate Slim taught me-from the other side-that he will be with me always- just like when he was here in body. He sends me "signs" all the time. If I feel in need of one I ask him to send one and he does! I was so utterly devastated when he crossed over-I didn't know about this truth then- that I fled in desperation to the Lord-the only place I knew to run. God himself told me that Slim didn't die-only his body did- that Slim was OK. Slim confirmed it with signs. That is how I KNOW for sure it is true. Isn't it a wonderful blessing! He will be with you always. I've thought the same thing when I was doing the same thing! You're certainly not alone.
