  1. I'm so sorry this is happenning. You both are in my prayers. I believe you already are doing what in my opinion is the right thing- you asked him. After all the pain, the suffering, the unknown, the tragedy etc. with so many of my wonderful animals thats what it has come down to as far as I'm concerned. I ask the animal what do they want. I believe they have a right to decide for themselves and I know they know more about what is going on with them and what will go on with them then we do in most cases. As I speak I have a kidney dog that refuses to let me give her fluids and you know what she told me? She said that she had the right to have her wishes respected and she didn't want it-that her reasons were her business and didn't matter anyway because she felt she had the right to decide; and you know what? I realize she's right. I'm sure I would feel the same way if it was me instead of her. There is a measure of dignity when allowed to make your own life decisions. Keep talking to Whitey-respecting his wishes even if you don't understand them- and acting out of love, and the best outcome for all concerned will evolve and you will have the peace of knowing you were nothing but a blessing to him in his time of need. God bless you both.

  7. Prayers for you and Whitey. I really can't find the words to express my feelings. The important thing is that you two found each other. Though we don't understand why his earth experience couldn't have been better initially- the important thing is that he found you and you loved him so. Love never dies. He will always be a part of you- a part you can treasure regardless of when he leaves this earth.
  8. I'm so sorry. A beautiful tribute to a most beautiful lady. My deepest sympathy.

  11. I have used WD40 in the past to remove tough bandages like elasticon. You can direct the spray with the long red nozzle thing directly to where the sticky part is stuck to the fur and then it will easily just peel on back and off. Repeat until bandage is off. And the WD40 is easy to get off the fur too. It really protects their fur and doesn't hurt and is easy to clean up after.

All those people who passed him by those 2 years will never know what they missed. God bless you and God bless Friends of Greyhounds for having the special love to allow his prayer to come true and be able to crossover as a much loved pet that will never be forgotten. Run free, fast, healthy and happy Rudy! You won! -and you will be loved always!
  13. I am so sorry for Shana. I hope she soon realizes that it was not her fault and she needs to stop being down on herself. Maggie, perhaps somehow you can teach her like Slim taught me from the other side. That we have absolutely no control over when someone crosses over. That you were born to run and were grateful for the trips to the park to do what you loved. My deepest sympathy.

  16. When I first got Goldie he had a little issue like that too. He was just scared/stressed/everything was so new to him. I gave him Rescue Remedy to allay his fears and in a couple of weeks he was fine.

  19. My heart is breaking for you. She is continuing her journey as we all must do. But she will be with you always. Love is energy-it can never be destroyed or dissipate into oblivion. Your spirits will always have each other. She may not be in her greyhound body but she'll be with you. Emily, send your mom a sign....let her know that you are OK and will be with her always.
