  5. Some people always keep their racing or kennel names and some people change them. It's a personal choice. I don't think it matters to the dogs. They can learn to respond to a new name very quickly and easily. If you want a shorter version of Dominica, you could call her Nica.
  6. This was my thought as well. I just went through this with my boy, Cruz, who was in kidney failure. Sending good thoughts for your sweet boy.
  7. April 19, 2013 – Natura Pet Products has announced it is voluntarily expanding its March 29, 2013 recall of dry pet foods because they may be contaminated with Salmonella. About Salmonella Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products. Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers. Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian. Sampling conducted by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Georgia Department of Agriculture confirmed the presence of Salmonella in additional dry pet food and a cat pet treat. Where Were the Products Sold? The affected products are sold through veterinary clinics and select pet specialty retailers nationwide and in Canada. They were also sold in Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and Costa Rica as well as online. What to Do? Consumers who have purchased these foods should discard them.   8. My bridge boy, Keno, LOVED coffee and would steal a slurp of mine any time I took my eyes off of it. I miss that sweet boy.
