Last November we adopted Mac, our first greyhound. Just before the New Year Maralyn joined him and was renamed Fifi.

For various reasons I had to go away for a few months just after Christmas. Carole, my wife, and her elderly mother found the very boisterous Fifi, difficult and worrying to have around, so eventually they decided they couldn't cope with her. Very regretfully she went back to the kennel from which she came.

Mac remained as a lone hound. He's beautiful and wonderful but he prefers to keep himself to himself.

Now I'm home and settled we decided that we wanted to fill the gap in our lives left by snugglebunny Fifi. So we went round the sancturies again (with Mac) and fell for a black girl called Pebbles. She's 10, and had been in a home for 4+ years until her owners split up.

She came home to join us on Monday. She was desperately skinny and scruffy. We're feeding her up and she's been groomed regularly and even bathed. She is definitely the snugglebunny we wanted and her tail barely stops wagging. She and Mac have settled down well, although Mac isn't prepared to let her on 'his' sofa yet.

Here's a picture of Pebbles when she first arrived:
