mrsmcd7
I have had my hound for 1 year exactly. His hair has mostly grown in (the rescue said he was almost bald when they got him), except for his scars (i expect they won't grow in) and his butt. His butt and behind things are still bald. Any concern about this? Vet didn't care. I should mention he is a perfect weight now at 86# (he's a big boy)and has a good appetite and no other health issues. Thanks! -Kathy
TheFullHouse
I've had my 3 big boys for 7 years and they are still bald. Some dogs will grow hair there and some won't. Nothing to worry about. mrsmcd7
Thank you so much, you've put me at ease. My "greyhounds for dummies" book suggested I should be concerned if butt still bare after a year, but he doesn't have any other symptoms of thyroid problems, so I think he's ok, too. Guest Midge
Boy, somebody using Google for a little, errrr, research is going to be awfully disappointed that this thread's about dog tushes. That being said, my eight year old, Holly (the dog, not the GT member), is rather baboon-like back there; Riggin's (almost 4 years old) got a little male pattern baldness going, looks almost "tufty" in spots; but Milly sports a very unladylike (she's twelve) hairiness. Guest DoofBert
Bald Butts, Shiney Heineys, nothing to worry about.. Some folks have bald heads.. some don't. Our Berts bald butt did improve when we upped his fish oil capsules. Went from completely shiney... to what my hubby calls fluffy bum.....
