lovinggreysslp Posted May 26, 2011 Share Posted May 26, 2011 Holmes will be going in for xrays on his right leg tomorrow. Last July, we took Holmes to the vet very alarmed because he was not bearing weight on his right leg. A few days on tramadol and leash walking did the trick and all seemed fine. Then we thought a corn was developing because one pad looked "precorn" like and he had moments of walking gingerly on his right leg. I have also noticed that he has been less active the lately but still eating ok and having moments of complete playfullness. All of a sudden though, he stopped wanting to put any weight on his right leg yesterday. Our vet visit today found a couple areas of pain. One was of course in the toe area but another was in the hip/thigh area. I pointed out a sore between two toes on his right foot (which looked like a tick but when I pulled, something hard came off and regrew within days). Out vet thinks that is an unrelated skin tag. Holmes will have xrays tomorrow and blood work done. I am of course thinking the worst as we lost two hounds this February to osteo within two days of each other. I can not believe we may be going through this again so soon. Thanks for any positive thoughts or prayers for Holmes. We still don't know what is causing the toe issue but we will work on that in future vet visits. Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts.
