Guest Maddison
Stinkerbelle/Maddie is limping really bad today. I have to go to the vet in a 1/2 hour. She is eating and seems very calm. I've given her pain meds and muscle relaxants to keep her quiet. Please hope that she only has a splinter or something in her paw and it's not anything else. When I touched her paw she growled at me. It was a small limp out of the blue yesterday at around 3 and it just is getting worse as time goes on.

Guest Maddison
Just got home from the vet. She has a really tender spot on her spine again but further up than the first injury. They gave her steroids and a laser treatment. She can walk now but it's difficult. If the muscle swelling goes down she should free up. What a terrible morning! I don't know how I made it through it. Guest Maddison
Today she's still got a bad limp here and there but then suddenly she walks "normal". I did the foot flip thing on her back feet to see if there was reaction today. There is! One foot flips back and the other doesn't go back yet. That is progress! Hopefully the muscle relaxants and steroids will do their trick and tack care of any inflammation in her back and give her movement again. She still has a happy look to her although you can tell the pain killers make her tired. As long as she's not shaking in pain or crying I think she'll recover. My hubby who says she is a pain in the tush because of all of her problems is also saying it's not time yet! I always thought he'd be first to say it's time to let her go but he can't do it either. She's still got a smile on her face so I know this moment is not hers to leave us. My son brings her treats and stuffed animals to try and make her feel better. Guest Maddison
Today she is able to flip all 4 feet back to the right position! She just jumped onto "her" couch too. She hasn't done that for a few days. I hope she is fully recovered as of right now, she looks right as rain! I am so relieved. She has never had a spell so bad where she couldn't keep her butt from falling to the ground. She was in such bad shape. The vet wanted her to do a laser treatment for another $150 for a bunch more sessions. I can't say that the one treatment they did was the cure or if it was the steroids. I tend to think it was the steroids not the expensive laser treatment. I felt pressured to do it at $47 I wish I had the strength at the moment to say just steroids first then expensive treatment. Ugh, I felt so conned.
Remolacha
so glad she is doing better! Steroids and acupuncture are what kept Sugar going when she started having spinal/back end problems. edited to add, if someone had offered me the laser treatments, I would have tried them. I would have tried anything to get her walking again, so don't feel conned Edited September 7, 2010 by Remolacha

As Remolacha said, don't feel conned, I would have tried laser treatments too.
